Job Hunt

I wake up feeling groggy as I switch off my alarm. 7:30 in the morning after a late night and a trans-Pacific. Not something I'd never experienced before but never imagined to be a great feeling. And guess what....
I was right. I felt like shit. My mind feels boggled and my body aches from being on a cramped plane for most of yesterday. I just wanted to stay curled up in bed for the whole day, trying to sleep it off although that's apparently not the way to do it. No. Instead you are meant to get up early in the morning and force you're body to adjust, not wait for it to adjust. How I hate the idea. If it were up to me, I'd stay in bed all day.

Unfortunately though the hunt for a new job and a place to stay for the next six months has to be started so I slowly make my way out of bed with as little effort as possible, grab some clothes and toiletries from my suitcase and head towards the bathroom . My plan is to have a freakishly cold shower, try to screw my head on straight, make myself look presentable and get through the day without something disastrous happening. Difficult I know, being THE Kim Min-Ji.

*twenty minutes later*

I emerge from the bathroom like a new person. Freshly showered and smelling of strawberries, my hair starting to turn curly around my shoulder. Not some thing I get from my mums side of the family but rather my American dad alongside a few other things like my fair complexion and light brown hair. I don't exactly blend in in Korea, being a halfie as we're technically known, but it could be worse I suppose.

After putting on my most presentable pair of shoes, some black converse to match my smart white jeans and flowery blouse, I stumble out the door and make my way towards the first of my job destinations - I did a Google search last night - grabbing a pastry from a nearby bakery and dashing down the street.

It's a restaurant job, waitressing in this barbecue place a couple of blocks away from the hotel. Doesn't seem like to harsh a job, paying a decent amount but I guess we'll see. There's numerous others that I'm applying for as well so it won't be the end of the world if I don't get it.

Receptionist, waitress, shop assistant, day care worker, school teacher in a languages department at a high school and even some basic work in some of the major entertainment agencies like SM. Ok, maybe the last one was just for the smallest chance that I got to meet exo, especially Suho.

Most of the jobs told me that they'd reply within a week. I was actually looking forward to the possibilities, especially the language teacher. I hope I get it. I won't tell you which school just yet though *dreaming of the beautiful pupils that go there*. Before you judge, I'm only one year older than some of them and when you find out which school, you won't blame me.

Interrupting my wonderful thoughts, I feel my phone vibrate in my pocket. Pulling it out, it comes up with message from an DK:

'Hey, heard you were job hunting today as well as looking for a place to stay. Hope it goes well, see you soon'

I texted him last night, thanking him for giving me his number.

'Yh, it's actually going quite well. I've applied to a whole load of places that said I should hear by the end of the week. Having a break for lunch and then moving onto the house hunt. How's practice?'

The reply from that is almost instant:

'Going well. Just had a break where we all headed down to the canteen. In the lift on the way back up about to start practicing again so gotta go. You wouldn't believe how mad Hoshi can get if we don't fully focus on the choreo. Bye'

I laughed out loud at the Hoshi bit. Although I hadn't properly gotten to know him, he seemed quite funny and not the type of person to get bad tempered. But then again, I didn't know him that well and we all get possessive over things we love.
