It all started

"Bang!" The door slammed shut.
There was no going back now. The elevators slowly began lifting us all up, each in our separate tubes. I had to do this. For prim. For dad. We arrived at our podiums as a woman's voice was counting down from five to four. Water is my bestfriend. Three two. You can do this. "Boom" the annual gun shot marking the beginning of the hunger games.

It was all a blur. A small blonde boy ran across, an inch away from killing me. I had to move. And fast otherwise I wouldn't make it. I remembered hamichs words and ran into the woods. Somebody was after me. I wasn't consentrating on who it was. I just ran and little did I know I had fallen down a mountain. I got up and kept on running. The sweat poured down my face like I was in a shower. My legs beginning to ache because of how fast I was running. And then I had lost whoever it was. I climbed up a tree to catch my breath and made sure I tied myself to a branch. For a split second I began to think about Peta. Where was he? Is he still alive? That split second went as a depressing song began playing in the sky. The sky showed the deaths from the other districts. I wanted all of this to end.How could someone make poor citizens fight in an arena? The idea made me fustrated and I began to sharpen a small piece of wood I found. I could use it to kill and hunt. Back home I was pretty good with the arrow. I used to hunt for my family and Gale and for his brothers. I sat there and tried to get rid of the horrid thought that I would never see them again. I pushed it far back and locked it away. I was going to win. I have no choice.
