It's almost 5 and it's already starting to get dark, we've been in the car for about 30 minutes and we are almost home. As soon as we begin to turn around another corner I'm at the edge of my seat. Everything looks so familiar and my heart starts to pound in excitement. We pass my high school and my old elementary school and then we near my street. "Mom, mom oh my god this is actually happening!" I am literally pressed against the window watching every house that we drive past. We turn around one more corner and there it is, maplewood road. I unbuckle my seat belt and put my hand on the doorknob getting ready to run out of the car and sprint inside as soon as we pull up. We slow down and we slowly pass Aaron's house then turn into my driveway. My eyes stay fixed on his house, just knowing he's in there gives me chills.

"We're here honey!" She parks the car in our driveway and dangles the house keys above my head. I snatch them and sprint out of the car faster than ever.

I run up the steps of my front porch and slide the keys into the keyhole and pause, taking it all in. I couldn't help myself anymore, I busted through the door and ran into my home, my home that I've dreamt of entering again for years. Everything was just as we left it, every furniture and every decore that hasn't been moved or touched in years. All the memories flow through my mind, I was young and I was always happy, running through this room wearing capes and building forts and playing games.

I sprint upstairs and run down my hallways to my bedroom door, placing my hand on the doorknob. I slowly open up the door and walk in, everything is left exactly the same, we didn't take much with us to Cali, we just ended up buying all new furniture and room decor. I jump on my bed and a stray tear falls from my eye, I don't remember the last time I felt this happy.

I get up off of my bed and walk over to my window, opening my shades. I look out to Aaron's window, wondering if he's in there. I continue to wander around my room enjoying every piece of it, taking it all in.

Aaron's POV

My world is drowned in my music blaring through my headphones as I sit at my desk doing some stupid homework. It is literally the second week of High School and I already have hours of homework. I get up to head downstairs and grab something to eat but I stop as I notice something through my window. I slowly walk over to my window, my heart racing. Spencer's room, the shades are opened and the lights are on, I haven't seen that since the day she left, years ago.

...And then I see her...

She walks around her room in awe, the smile plastered on her face is absolutely priceless. My heart is beating over a million miles per minute as I take it all in. I pinch myself a couple times making sure that this is reality that I'm in, is she really back home?

I immediately race over to my bed and pull out the shoebox that I kept hidden underneath and open it up. I grab the walkie talkie that we would use every day as kids. Memories flow through my mind as I hold the small grey walkie in my hand. I hold it up to my mouth, press the 'talk' button and tell myself to calm my breathing and grow some balls. "Code red... Code red..." My voice is shaky and I see Spencer in her room turn around abruptly trying to find the source of the noise.
