Deadly Dinner

Chapter 1

******** 1 year later*********

"And I know that's what Haden would've wanted all of you to come as you do every year!" Thomas says on the other line. "I know she would've! She was my best friend!" I say into the phone. "Alright well bye,Lynn!" He says into the phone. "Bye Thomas!" I say happily into the phone. I hand up and sigh. This was going to be interesting. I am going to be hanging out my best friend's brother and friends. The bus stops suddenly. I look out the window. I recognize the thick woods and the blue sky. I exit the bus and it drives away down the road. I can feel the humidity that has always made my hair extra frizzy. I run into the woods the way me and Haden always would. I find the small stream with the rocks. I bound across the smooth rocks worn over by years of the water running over. I laugh as I make it over the last rock. I see the small house where I would meet the others staying this year. There,Thomas would pick us up at 5:00. I look at the black watch on my left hand. "It's only 3:00?" I say annoyed. I sit down on the bench outside of the house. I have to wait for the others to get here. I soon see Riley run up to me. "Riley!" I yell happily. She sees me and yells "Lynn!". We embrace exam other in a giant hug. This feels good. She's been my friend since Haden's tragic death. Thank goodness she's here.
