“April, sweet it’s time to get up you have school.”

I rolled back on the other side of the bed and pulled the covers over my head. I was dreading today. Not only was it the start of a new school term, but also I had moved to the closest one to Aunt Shelly, meaning I know no one.

“April, get up. You will be fine, everyone will love you, and you have a bright personality now get up before I get ice.

My eyes snapped opened and I jumped out of bed running to the bathroom that’s connected to my bedroom. I heard Aunt Shelly laugh as she knew my weakness. I hate ice, even in a drink.

I quickly washed my face and brushed my teeth. I looked in the mirror and saw that my shoulder length white blonde hair fell in little ringlets. I ran my fingers through it so it didn’t look like I just got out of bed and headed to my closet.

Before I could reach it, there were already clothes laid out on my bed. Denim high wasted shorts with a hang-off-the shoulder see through top with a white spaghetti top underneath. I put it on and matched it with a pair of black baggy boots.

I walked to my full-length mirror and saw that the top hid my chest extremely well with the bagginess of the top. I was about to turn around when I heard a gasp.

“April sweet you look amazing. I think all the boys will be drooling over you today.”

She gave me a wink and I just smiled, but it hurt to smile ever since the accident. Aunt Shelly must have noticed because she came up and gave me a hug.

“April everything will be fine, just walk into school with your head held high and if anyone, and I mean anyone messes with you go to the office and get them to call me.”

I nodded and stepped away for the closeness and grabbed my shoulder bag that Aunt Shelly had brought from her trip to London.

“Okay already and set to go?”

I nodded and grabbed my phone and iPod from the night stand any put them in the front pocket of my bag. Aunt Shelly moved out the door and I followed.

The car trip to the school was short and sweet, it felt like I was still little with having a guardian drop me off, but I didn’t mind.

I gave a small painful smile to Aunt Shelly and hopped out of the car. I slowly turned around and saw no one’s eyes were on me. A weight of relief went off my shoulders as I walked through the crowds. I gripped on to the shoulder strap of my bag as I entered the office.

I waited at the front desk for the lady to notice I was there.

“Oh hello sweet, let me guess your April.”

I nodded and diverted my eyes somewhere else as the lady ran her fingers on the key bored and answered calls.

“Okay here you are, this is your timetable, map, locker key and your library key.”

I took my timetable, map and slid them in my front pocket along with my locker key. I smiled at the lady and walked out to the crowded halls. I gripped my bag once again and went on a search to find my locker.

I grabbed my key from my pocket and read the number, 975. I puffed my cheeks with frustration as I could only see even numbers. I went to the other side and still found even numbers. I walked more down and started to find odd numbers, I smiled on the inside as I noticed I got closer to my locker number. As I was about to reach it the bell rang right in my ears.

My hands shot up to them and covered them.

It was like the squealing of a little kid right in your ear. I uncovered my ears and saw people running the halls. I quickly walked to my locker and shoved some of the books in my locker and pulled out my timetable.
