Chapter 11 ~ Time To Be Awesome

Sectionals time, guys!
It's time for the New Directions to be win back their reputation after losing everything at Nationals last year! But now they're back and ready to beat the competition.

Sectionals this year was being held at McKinley. The New Directions were getting ready in the choir room. There isn't a specific theme for this years Sectionals; they got to choose their own them for their club. They kind of choose songs about being in abusive relationships and getting out of them.
Ryley has the solo that they're starting with then Jake and Marley are leading a group number. They were going to finish with Kitty leading the club with a group number that Abbi was rapping on.
Finn wanted to let one of the three newbies have a shining moment during the numbers and since they were singing a song that featured a rap and Abbi had proved she could rap during her audition so Finn gave her the rap solo.
The costumes this year are the same ones that the New Directions used at Sectionals back in majority of the original clubs Junior year Nationals. They all looked nice and were all ready.
The three newbies seemed nervous though with this being their first Sectionals competition. Ryley and Angie saw them sitting on the seats, seeming a bit nervous. They went over to the three.
"You guys okay?" Ryley asks them.
"We're nervous." Hailey says.
"We can tell." Ryley says.
"How did you guys feel when you first performed a competition?" Abbi asks.
"We performed at something bigger than this; Nationals." Angie says.
"And one of the judge's was Zachary Freaking Levi." Ryley says.
"Who's Zachary Freaking Levi?" Troye asks.
"Did you ever watch Chuck? Or Tangled? Alvin And The Chipmunks? Because he was in all of them and was just freaking perfect." Ryley says, with a smile.
"You're totally not obsessed." Abbi says.
"I gave him this huge big hug when we recieved our trophy. It was like the best day of my life." Ryley says.
"She made a complete idiot of herself." Angie says.
"Shut up." Ryley says, smacking her best friend on the arm.
"Ow." Angie says.
"Show circle!" Finn shouts, entering the choir room with Sam and Puck, who have been helping the club for the last few weeks.
"Who's leading the show circle?" Jake asks as everyone finally gets into the circle.
"Ryley, why don't you?" Finn asks.
"I'd love to." Ryley says with a smile.
Finn smiles back at her as she prepares to say something.
"So, this club has helped me a lot. I didn't realise I had a talent for singing until Rachel forced to me audition for this club. And when we lost Nationals last year and lost the club, I knew I had to help the club that helped me. You guys are like my family. I never had a true family before this club. Thank you." Ryley says.
"Anything else?" Finn says.
"As Chuck Bartowski would say to Captain Awesome on Chuck sometimes, 'It's time to be awesome'." Ryley says.
"Hands in!" Finn says.
The New Directions, Finn, Puck and Sam put their hands into the centre. They raise their hands into the air as they go "Aaaaaa-mazing!".

Ryley has the solo to begin their setlist with so she stands on the sidelines of the stage. She looks through the curtains out into the audience. She sees her dads' with Marley's mom. She can see Ryder's parents, Jake's mom, Angie's parents and so many more families of their club. Clearly, they want to support their kids 100%.
She then sees Lucas. She didn't expect he'd be there. They've only known each other for a week. They talk sometimes on Facebook too. Ryder knows Lucas isn't a threat so there isn't any jealous boyfriends keeping an eye on who she talks to on Facebook.
Next to Lucas is Tyler and some other Dalton boys. Tyler seems really uninterested and looks like he's been forced to be there.
Ryley returns behind the curtain. She takes a deep breath.
"And now from William McKinley High School, the New Directions!" The announcer shouts.
"Time to be awesome." Ryley whispers to herself as the crowd cheers then the band begin to play her song. She walks out to sing the song.
