"Isn't it beautiful?" Captain Cutie asked as she gazed up at the millions of stars just out of their reach. She was sprawled out across the grass, hands behind her head. She had made sure Muffin was sitting within reach. Cutie pulled the sleeves of her neon orange hoodie further down, so they covered her hands. She was glad she had decided to put on jeans earlier because it was a bit chilly. Nonetheless, Cutie remained barefooted.
Muffin smiled her impish grin and whispered "Yeah," she turned her head towards Cutie "Not as beautiful as you though." She smiled sincerely, staring into the beautiful depth of Cap's eyes and turning her head back to the sky as she twisted the hem of her black recycle shirt smiling to herself. As she sat criss cross apple sauce her mind set as if she were meditating on controlling and sending out her energy. Cutie stared up, not at the stars but at Muffin. She stayed like that her mouth twisted into a knot until she mustered up the courage. "Hey, Muffin?" A bit surprised, Muffin tilted her head as she looked at Cutie, "Yes?" It's was clear Cutie was hesitant as she sat up. Cutie took a deep breath and bit her bottom lip, fighting the urge to look away. "Well, I... um, I guess I was just, uh," Cutie couldn't take it any longer. She averted her eyes away from Muffin, to the ground and began playing carelessly with the grass in front of her. "Never mind, i-it was nothing." Muffin was aware that this was anything but nothing. "Cutie?" She didn't respond. Muffin got on her knees and scooted over towards Cutie, she placed a hand over Cutie's to get her attention. Muffin turned her head to the side and furrowed her eyebrows together "What's up Cap?" Cutie looks into Muffin's deep army green eyes, blushing. "I uh um," she sputtered, looking down at the grass and the hand placed on hers. Muffin's face softened into her usual smile. "You okay?" She asked. Cutie blushed biting her lip and playing with her necklace, nodding, "Yeah, I was just wondering something." She blushed a deeper shade. Muffin giggled at her blush "What is it Cutie?" Cutie couldn't look at Muffin. It would just make this harder on her. It's not that she didn't want to ask her it's just that she was afraid. She was afraid of how Muffin might react. Afraid of how this might affect them. "Well," Cutie started. "I know that you love me, you tell me that all the time, but what kind of love?" Cutie glanced at Muffin unsure of what might happen next. Muffin blushed obviously surprised and looked at the moon "The best kind, Cutie," she answered wistfully. Cutie's eyes widened in surprise,
waiting before asking "And what kind would that be, Muffin?" Muffin smiled a soft, peaceful smile, one Cutie had never seen. "The kind of love that's like loving a part of yourself, Cutie." She looked up into Cutie's eyes, smiling so at peace. Her rambunctious spirit calm, her heart tame yet beating like horse hooves. Then suddenly she had engulfed Cutie into a hug. Muffin's warm cheek pressed to Cutie's shoulder, her hot breath tickling her neck. Muffin closed her eyes as a beautiful grin that she never knew she could use trickled across her lips. "I love you from the bottom of my heart, and the center of my soul," she whispered airily. At first Cutie sat stiff and unsure. She wasn't used to being embraced, but within seconds she had relaxed resting her head on top of Muffin's and drawing her close. Cutie closed her eyes taking in the beauty of the moment until she felt Muffin pull away. Cutie looked down at her, confused until she saw Muffin smile as she pressed her soft lips to Cutie's cheek. Her warm loving touch was definitely not something Cutie was used to. When Muffin pulled away, she was blushing redder than anyone had ever seen her. But she was smiling and it was almost as though she was glowing. Cutie kept staring at her while Muffin kept lifting her eyes and avoiding Cutie's cute stare that she used to try and cut into you. "I-I understand if you don't want to be friends anymore," Muffin stuttered. Cuties eyes were full of surprise and confusion, as well as excitement while her face was bright red. It was almost as if she was incapable of communication or any function at all. Finally, she looked away from Muffin realizing she had been staring, and a smirk began to play across her face. Cutie glanced up to make sure Muffin wasn't paying attention at the moment and was pleased to see she was looking in the opposite direction. Cutie placed her hand under Muffin's chin and turned her head so that they were facing each other. "That's better," Cutie said in a hushed voice giggling at the stunned look on Muffin's face, but not backing away. "And if we aren't friends then what do you propose we be?" Cutie asked, her voice now a whisper. Muffin swallowed slowly, "Um, I-I guess um we could, you know, g-go out?" Muffin looked away almost ashamed of herself. Cutie looked surprised but almost satisfied. She lifted Muffin's head to her eyes, with two fingers, "I would love to go out with you Muffin," she whispered. Muffin blushed at the fact that their noses were only an inch apart. Muffin looked up into Cutie's eyes then down at her lips. Muffin smiled as she leaned forward and closed the space between them. This time Cutie didn't hesitate, but instead lost herself in the embrace. After what couldn't have possibly been long enough, they pulled away. Muffin looked up, blushing and smiling like the crazy idiot she is, staring at Cutie until finally she spoke, "I love you, Cutie." Cutie peered into her eyes "I love you too, Muffin."
