"Happy Birthday!" My mom dad and little brother all gather around my bed. That's what I woke up to not a bad way to wake up. If it were some other day I would have thrown them out on their tails. I sat up smiling "thanks you guys" I gushed out. "Oh wow sis your breath! I could probably smell it from down stairs." My fourteen year old little brother, a thorn in my side is slightly taller than me, white hair which to some people it's weird but to werewolf kind it's the sign of the moon goddess presence.
His eyes are green with ringlets of gold.
"Maybe you should go see", I said chucking my pillow at him. Mom gave us a stern look, dad just turned away trying to hide his amusement. Failing and earning a slap on the arm. "Oww! what was that for?" Giving mom the puppy eyed look. "Encouraging their bad behavior," she said as she leaned into dad.
My parents are my role model far as soulmates are concerned. They've been together since the age of sixteen. My mom being from a different pack my dad had to go find her it's pack tradition. I never get tired of hearing their story: Sixteen year old Jasper (that's my dad) the alpha to be wanting nothing else but to find his soulmate, his Luna. They had had a celebration for his birthday, and in the dark of night his pack mates joined him to see him off to find their next Luna. As he left his pack behind he began  asking neighboring packs about their unmated girls. Some alphas welcomed Jasper knowing he's from the strongest pack in the world. A good ally it would make for them, but he didn't care because none of them had his mate. With heavy paws and an even heavier heart he began to lose hope. It had been three weeks, and his mind was made up he would search one more pack, The Blue Demon Pack. They were known for their underhanded tricks. So when he neared their territory he and his wolf were on full alert. Meeting the alpha he saw that he was unkind lashing out at his pack brethren. Jasper being a kind alpha did not like what he saw at all. Wanting to go as soon as he'd come he asked head bowed, "Alpha of Blue Demon Pack I am looking for my Luna my soulmate. I wish to see all of your unmated females so that I might find her." What came next shocked his wolf's ears. "No" no was all the despicable alpha said. Jasper growled his wolf didn't take being held from his potential mate well. The Blue Demon alpha laugh and said "boy do you wish to fight me I will not take that tone from a mere pup. Come at me with all you got." As Jasper crouched down, no doubt a battle to the death about to start. He smelled the most intoxicating smell. His wolf howled and yipped from within his head while urging Jasper to go toward the scent. Jasper with the alpha already forgotten rushed with great speed to where the smell was.
He stopped lost for words as he changed from his wolf form. "Mate" was what he said. Sophie(that's my mom of course:) turned around to see Jasper in his birthday suit. He ran to her and firmly yet gently kissed her "mine" he said. Being sixteen also she also knew they were mates. She started crying Jasper's wolf didn't like that his mate was crying so he asked Sophie, "Do you not want me as a mate?" He whimpered at the idea of her saying yes. She put a hand on his cheek vanquishing any doubts he had, and she replied, "No that isn't it. My alpha will never let us go, he keeps all the females to himself never letting us find our true mates." With that Sophie started crying again. He hugged her close inhaling her aroma, "we will be together I promise you." Just as Jasper promised Sophie this the alpha appeared he had shifted as well. "That's a tall promise coming from a little pup" he sneered. Jasper quickly put Sophie behind him shielding her from the alpha. "I challenge you to a fight to the death", Jasper said in his strong alpha voice. The alpha barked with laughter. "Very well I've killed countless others in their quest for their mates you die tonight." With that the alpha shifted not giving Jasper a chance to shift lunged at him. Jasper turned to shield Sophie earning a deep slash on his back, wincing he told her to go to her pack until he came for her. She wined, reluctant to go. She wanted to stay near her mate just in case something went wrong. With a light kiss he said "go!" using his alpha voice. She had no choice but to leave. She turned once more to see Jasper but, only seeing a huge black wolf in the man's place.

Hours after that Sophie had gathered all her pack mates telling them what had happened. Some said he didn't have a chance some even cheered saying they were free, but all stood by and watch one man come out of the woods. Sophie smiled and ran to her mate. "Are you ready to go? Jasper asked his mate. So with her and the rest of her pack in tow he made it back to his home completing the mating process and living happily ever after.

"Hello earth to Mia," my brother pulling me out of my thoughts. "Huh?" Swatting my pesky brother hand away. "A penny for your thoughts kiddo" my dad said ruffling my hair. I pouted smoothing my bed hair down. "I was thinking about you and mom's story on how you two met", I said dreamy eyed.
Mom's eyes twinkled at the memory dad just said you'll find yours soon, maybe tonight!" He pouted, "hopefully it won't take a whole month." He nudged me and pretended to whisper as he said, "between you and me I think she was hiding from me." The shock on my mom's face from what she heard left all of us laughing.

After ushering everyone out my room throwing this time a shoe at my brother. I proceeded to get ready combing my short black and white hair, it's really black and white no lie! I'd like to say I got sprinkled with the goddess presence. I stepped in the shower washing off the dirt from the day before. Stepping out wrapping my plush red towel around me did I tell you my favorite color is red. Walking to my walk in closet I could smell breakfast was almost ready. Mouth watering stomach, and wolf yelling at me to hurry up. I put on my black jeans, a red punk rock t-shirt. Combing my hair one last time slipping into my black high tops. Smiling in my mirror I say, "Happy Birthday today you're gonna find your mate, and live happily ever after.
