Dinner that night seemed rushed to Haymitch, the others tributes ate plentifully and hurriedly, running to their rooms after doing so. That night many delicacies such as escargot, which seemed to be Ronald's favourite, were served. Though Maysilee seemed to be pushing it, down her throat. When Maysilee was done, she ran to the elevator , not even excusing herself from the table. Haymitch was left then , sitting alone at the table, empty plates stacked in front of him, the fine china glittered In the light. Mother and Colin are probably going to sleep with empty stomachs tonight, Haymitch thought, a tear trailed down his cheek, he quickly wiped it away. He was disgusting, eating his fill here in the Capitol. His stomach rolled, and he ran to the main bathroom, where he retched up the expensive Capitol meal. What the hell was he doing? Playing around with Maysilee, eating Capitol meals, training hard, as if he even had the chance of winning. Of going home to a family full of embraces, of granting his starving district food on parcel day. No chance. He thought of Lucy and her beautiful gleaming eyes and knew he'd never see that again either. He held his head in his hands as he kneeled their on the bathroom floor. Tears came in buckets now cascading down his cheeks. He stayed like this weeping on the floor for several minutes, until he felt a hand on his back. He inhaled sharply and looked up, it was Maysilee in a silk nightgown, tears ran down her cheeks carelessly too. 'Im not going to try and kiss you, if that's what you're wondering, I know Lucy she's a nice girl, I'm sorry I tried to kiss you before I don't know what I was thinking' she sighed deeply. 'Actually I do know what I was thinking, I-I was thinking, god damn Lucy is lucky, she has someone who loves her so much.. She's beautiful .. Haymitch she really is' Maysilee's lips quivered as she said this, she looked so small and birdlike, and.. Like Lucy. Suddenly it wasn't Maysilee standing in front of him, but Lucy, her hair flew free, and her eyes gleamed with tears. Haymitch stroked her hair softly, pulling her into his lap. She sounded surprised but then relaxed. 'I love you' Haymitch murmured into her ear, before kissing her full on the mouth. Haymitch could taste her tears on her lips, as he kissed her more deeply. He knotted his hands in her hair and twirled a curl around his finger. At one point, Haymitch found himself on top of Lucy as he kissed her more deeply, she kissed him back with all she had, until Haymitch abruptedely stopped, looking past her at the door. In the door frame stood Ronald looking caught off guard. 'Wow Haymitch you never told me you were into Maysilee, guess you broke it off with Lucy?' Ronald said while smirking. Haymitch looked confused 'Wha-' he said turning to look at Lucy. But instead Maysilee sat in Lucy's place with a question in her eyes, while only mumbling 'you thought I was her.. Oh Haymitch I'm so sorry'. Haymitch's cheeks burned as he pushed past Ronald towards the elevator, leaving Maysilee looking flustered and speechless.
