"Dude, you just have to get over it. There is plenty more fish in the sea!"
Sirius was still cursing himself and asking the devil to just come up from the earth then drag him to hell.
All four of the marauders had got off the train and were now sitting in a carriage, being bumped along the cobble paths through the forests.
Unknown to them, it was the Thestrals that were pulling them along.
"It's not that Prongs! No! It's just...just...er..." Sirius shook his head. "Just shut up and let me get on with my insults."
Remus and James exchanged a look.
"Well personally, I am quite impressed with your vocabulary of insults" Remus said shrugging.
Peter meanwhile, was looking very strangely at the next carriage bouncing up and down next to them. "Eh...guys?"He said nervously tugging at Sirius's sleeve.
Sirius shook off Peter, too wrapped up in his own thoughts. Peter then turned to James. "Prongs...."He started but James was going glassy eyed thinking about one particular red headed girl.
So what to do? Why turn to Remus! "Moony...You do know that..." But Remus hushed him, he was trying to remember something complicated.
Peter thought hard then said once more, "Guys?"
"WHAT?!" They all said in unison, with an annoyed tone though. Peter shrank down but merely pointed meekly toward the next door carriage. Already did the Hufflepuffs inside start staring at them.
"Damn you..." Sirius cursed loud enough for them to hear. Eleanor was unmistakable with her hair and she was twitching around like she was desperate to hit something.
As soon as she turned her head, her and Sirius were locked into a staring battle. Obviously the invisible Thestrals felt the wave of discomfort so they started pulling Eleanor's carriage along the road a bit faster. Even that though wasn't very much of an obstacle.
When Eleanor had gone out of earshot, Sirius used a word to describe her that made Peter give a little squeak. The teacher's carriage wasn't very much behind them.
James laughed. "Don't be so up tight Wormtail! Your becoming just like Moony!"
"Oh thanks" Remus replied sarcastically. "You guys are definitely my friends."
"Oh shut up, you know you really love us!"

"I...Hate...YOU" Sirius muttered as the marauders took their place at the table. He was aiming his glare at Eleanor who was sitting two tables away.
"Really?" Remus said rolling his eyes.
"Hey look Padfoot, you may be in the dumps with your ex but its time to make my move. I don't want you making a bad impression." James' eyes twinkled as Lily came into sight.
"Like you already havn't..." Remus muttered.
James pushed Remus off the bench.
"Right..." James got up and stretched his arms outwards. But he was forced to sit back down again as Dumbledore had got up and was twiddling his spectacles waiting for everyone to quieten down.
"Welcome!" Dumbledore said gesturing ,quite eccentrically, to everyone in the hall.
"Bad luck Prongs, maybe it was never meant to be."
"Shut it"

After a long speech on everything, the few things that stayed in the Marauders minds (except Remus's mind as he paid attention to everything) was that
