The Four Marauders

Here Squidy, Squidy, Squidy!

Despite Cyan's excitement for the rest of the year, the following days were fairly boring.

"Sheese, when is the next full moon Moony? I can't handle much more boredom."

Remus gave James a dark look over his 'Wonderful creatures of the World' book. "You always say that."

James shrugged. "Still can't believe you were the first to get a detention out of us! Impossible."

The marauders were sitting in the common room where they were supposed to be spending their study period for O.W.L. studying. The O.W.L.s being their most important exams so far, 3/4 marauders weren't taking it that seriously.

Remus made a quick change between his creature book to a defence against the dark arts one.

Sirius lounged on the sofa staring up at the ceiling. "Hey, we are still wizards right? This shouldn't be boring! Maybe we could..."

"No for goodness sake. We are studying. For O.W.L.s. Do I really need to spell it out?"

"Okay okay Moony," James groaned. "Couldn't we use this for the map perhaps?"

"It is studying." Put in Sirius helpfully.

"And good for the b-brain and min-mind."

"What?"

"Never mind! Come on!" James wrenched the book out of Remus' hands. "Lets go outside! Its much better than here."

"Its raining." Remus said in a flat tone.

"So?!"

"Prongs is right. Now you get all the books together we need and I'll bring the materials. Prongs can bring the invisibility cloak just in case and Wormtail...you can help Moony." Sirius ordered perking up immediately. He jumped of the sofa.

"Right! Get to work! What is wrong with you? What are you, mice or men?"

"Tech-echnically speaking, I-I am a mouse..." Peter said smiling slightly.

"Well, yeah and I am a part wolf part male so..."

"I am a Stag." James said proudly.

"More like a deer prancing around." Sirius joked. He regained his strict composure soon though. "Hurry or I feed you to the angry werewolf next full moon."

"I think I am the only werewolf that won't bite your head off. What if I don't hurry?" Remus asked snatching his book back off James.

"Then I'll eat you, just get a move on! 5th period doesn't last forever!"

The marauders slouched back up the stairs to their dorms to get the required items for their assigned 'job'. Sirius an exception who almost bounced up the stairs and back down again.

When the rest had stumbled (fallen in one case) down the stairs they stood in a line so Sirius could inspect their items.

"Good, Good and Good! We're ready to go!"

"Shouldn't we visit the hospital wing?" Remus pointed his finger at Peter who seemed to not know the difference between life and stairs.

Sirius squared up to Peter and looked him in the eye. "No he's fine!" He concluded and stepped back slapping his hands together. "Lets go mapping then."

No one spoke for a while.

"Yay." Remus said hanging his head.

"Woo," James and Peter echoed.

"This is a bad idea." James finally noticed when his hair was dripping with water and his glasses steamed up leaving him to wipe the mist off at regular intervals.
