Hermione's POV:
I breathed in the fresh air.
It was night.
The air always seems fresher at night, but its probably just me.
Draco and I had been released from the hospital.
As soon as I stepped outside, the air was different.
For one, the overpowering smell of disinfectant was gone.
The air seemed fresher, unfiltered.
It also seemed quiet.
There was no loud air conditioner, no sounds of machines, of other patients.
Now, there was just the sounds of birds chirping and cars zooming down a nearby highway.
Suddenly, Draco's voice snapped my out of my thoughts.
"You coming?" He asked, up ahead of me.
I realized that I had stopped walking.
"Oh. Yea." I said, walking towards him.
"Sorry." I said once I caught up to him.
"Don't say sorry." He said.
We started walking again.
"Sorry." I said, just to get his reaction.
He groaned.
"Ok. I'll stop." I said, resisting the urge to say sorry for real.
Literally me.
When someone says,"Stop saying sorry," I immediately want to say sorry...
"Thank you." He said.
"You're welcome." I said, grabbing his hand.
"Are you ready to go home?" I asked once we were at the rental car we had to use.
"Of course." He said.
He started to get in the driver's seat.
I grabbed his shirt and pulled him away.
"I'm driving." I said.
He snorted.
I glared at him.
He raised his hands in defeat.
"Fine." He said, going to the other side of the car.
I smiled in triumph, slipping into the driver's seat.
"Why did you want to drive?" He asked, grabbing his seatbelt.
"Because I know I'll be careful." I said, hearing the audible click of his seatbelt.
I buckled mine and started the car.
I carefully and slowly drove back to our small apartment.
Once we were in the parking lot, I left the car running.
"What are you doing?" He asked.
"I don't know." I said.
I drove into a parking slot and parked the car.
I cut off the power and reached to unlock my door and get out.
However, it wouldn't open.
I looked at Draco.
His eyes widened.
He tried his door.
It wouldn't open.
He looked back at me.
Suddenly, all the lights around us went out.
The only light left was a small one in our car.
I clicked it off, the car now completely dark.
Draco slowly unbuckled his seatbelt and got into the back seats.
He tried the doors.
They were all locked.
"I'm going to kick out a window." Draco whispered.
I nodded, mute with terror.
We switched seats so that Draco was kicking at the driver's seat window.
After a few hard kicks, the glass shattered.
We switched seats again.
I reached my hand out the window and felt around for the outer handle of the door.
I found it quickly.
Just as I was about to pull it, and icy hand gripped my wrist.
"Where do you think you're going?"
Whelp.
This wasn't supposed to happen.
Well, we'll see what'll happen.
I hope that you liked this update.
Lots of love and Potter vibes, Vanessa
