Hermione's POV:

I woke up.

I bolted upright.

Where am I?

Then I heard Harry and Ginny laughing and talking downstairs.

I relaxed.

Everything came back to me.

I stretched.

I looked at my alarm clock.

It was 9:17 am.

I had slept in late.

I stood up and looked around the room for something to wear.

I cracked open the door.

There was a folded T-shirt and a pair of jeans.

I smiled.

They were Ginny's.

I grabbed them and closed the door.

I quickly changed into them.

Once I was finished, I folded my dirty clothes into a neat pile.

I creaked open the door and tiptoed down the stairs.

I quietly made my way into the kitchen.

Ginny and Harry were at the table, mugs of coffee beside them.

They noticed me after a second.

"Hi, Hermione." Ginny and Harry said at the same time.

I laughed.

"Jinx!" Ginny and Harry yelled at the same time.

I smiled.

Harry took a breath, but Ginny was too quick.

"Jinx." She sung at Harry.

He pretended to pout.

"He can't talk, so it'll be a bit quieter around here." Ginny said, smiling.

Harry smiled.

"So, Hermione. Did you sleep well? Would you like some coffee?" Ginny asked.

"Yes, I slept well. And coffee would be great, thank you." I replied.

Ginny nodded, smiling.

Harry got up and grabbed a cup and poured coffee into it.

"Thank you, Harry." Ginny said as Harry placed the cup in front of me.

He didn't reply.

"Harry? Did you sleep alright?" Ginny asked.

Once again, he didn't answer.

Ginny bolted up.

"Harry?!" She asked nervously.

I burst out laughing.

"What?" Ginny asked.

"He's... still.. *gasp* on... jinx!" I replied while still laughing and struggling to breathe.

"Ah. You can talk now Harry." Ginny said.

"Thank you." Harry said.

I laughed.

Suddenly, there was a noise at the front door.

"Thats just a letter." Ginny said, seeing my confusion.

"Ah. I'll get it." I said.

"Thank you." Harry said.

I nodded and stood up.

I walked to the front door.

I picked up the letter.

"You can open it to see if its junk. If it is, kindly throw it away, please." Ginny called out.

"Alright." I called back to her.

I slid my finger under the flap and tore the envelope open.

Inside was a letter.

I opened it.

It said very little.

I have your boy.

Come and get him, or he's gone forever.

I gasped.

"Ginny! Harry! Hurry!" I yelled.

There was something else in the envelope.

It was a picture.

I pulled it out with trembling hands.

It was a picture of Draco laying on the floor, surrounded in blood.

I screamed.

Well.

My goal for when this book is long finished is 10k.

It doesn't have to be anytime soon.

Just eventually.
