Finally Part 2 (Lucaya)

Chapter 25

A/N: how about that? No worries, we'll be getting into the baby stuff soon :) and this is also a filler.

Maya's POV

I rested my head against my hands on the steering wheel. Why can't I ever catch a break? If it's not someone coming back into my life after leaving it's misinterpreting conversations and if it's not that it's psycho ex boyfriends. My phone started vibrating in the cup holder, I didn't take it with me in the dorm so I wouldn't be distracted and I really dreaded looking at this scroll of text's and missed calls. I looked at Lucas' first.

L: where did you go?
L: Maya?
L: please pick up your phone or call me, I'm worried.

I didn't need to read anymore of his text because it was recycled texts just worded differently, but I do need to call him. I dialed his number and hit call as I took a deep breath.

-phone conversation with Lucas-

L: Maya?
M: Yeah, it's me.
L:what's going on? You kinda ran out on me out of nowhere mid conversation.
M:I know. I'm sorry and I forgot my phone in my car that's why I wasn't answering.
L:are you going to ignore the question or tell me?
M: I was taking care of what happened to you, okay? Happy now?
L: how do you know who did this.
M: it wasn't hard to guess. It was Josh's roommates.
L: what? Why?
M: I don't know Lucas, some demonic way to get to me, but point being it's taken care of. I would leave school that's a given but for this reason I really needed to face it alone and it needed to be then when it was still fresh in my mind. I love you Lucas and nothing will change that no matter what you read in my notebooks.
L: I love you, too, Maya and what makes you think I read your notebooks?
M: because I left you in a room of secrets and with how long you were in there you were bound to find something out.
L: yeah I did. I wish you would have came to me about that.
M:how about we talk about this tonight when I get off work?
L: sounds great, I love you and I'll see you tonight.
M: you too.

-end phone conversation-

That was probably the second best conversation I've had literally all day, with the first being Riley. I have yet to talk to Shawn still, though that conversation will be taken place in the next few hours and who knows if he has calmed down any. I drove all the way to Topanga's since my apron is already in my car. I texted everyone back letting them know I was okay and that I would see them tomorrow.

-Maya's Lunch Break/Talk With Shawn-

Shawn walked in exactly when I started clocking out for break. I walked up to Shawn and hugged him and then we went outside and sat down.

"How is everything?" He had no hesitation in starting this conversion.

"As I said last night, everything is fine, Lucas isn't a bad guy, I just misinterpreted what happened, missy overheard Cory talking to Topanga on the phone during lunch and she went and asked Lucas if it was true, then you know what happened from there." I smiled at him.

"You really had me worried. I didn't mean to come off like a violent jerk last night because that's not who I am. I just get protective of you." Concern was flashed all over his face.

"I get it Shawn, believe me, but I can also take care of myself." Reassuring him that I live my own life now was a constant battle.

"I know, you've proven that time and time again and I couldn't be more proud of you." He smiled at me.

"Thank you Shawn. That means a lot."  I smiled back at him.

"Anytime kiddo, as long as everything is okay with you then everything is okay with me."  This was the best part of Shawn, he cares so much.

"I have to get back to work, but I'll talk to you soon." I smiled at him as I got up and gave him a hug.

The only tough conversation of the day left was the talk about Josh with Lucas. I know it's in the past, but it's the one thing I have yet to completely let go of. Once I talk to him and get it out I'm sure I can finally let go. Lucas is my safe place when Riley isn't there. I can trust him with anything and this is something I can't even tell Riley because her guilt gets the best of her.
