CHAPTER 6

Eljin's POV

"The area's clear." I told to Hurvy.

"Finally I can set my soul on fire! Bwahahaha." Hurvy jumped with joy.

He hurriedly ran to the camp, taking the chance while everyone is still asleep.

"Hey! Hey wait! You're dragging me down. Did you forget we're still handcuffed?!?" I argued.

"Ow. Sorry." He apologized.

"Now here's the plan..." I whispered to him. "As we pass through our campsite, I'll get my phone inside  and call the manager of this resort to handle this freaking handcuff!!!"

"Shh!!! They'll hear us." Hurvy warned.

We tiptoed to the campsite until....

"Ahhhhh!" I slipped through a mud that I haven't noticed and as I fell down, Hurvy came down, too.

I really hate that handcuff, now we're already covered with mud!

"Yuck!" Hurvy repulsed.

"Stop complaining! Let's continue the plan!"

"Sorry." He said in a low voice.

I am always touched by his sorry's.

As we reach the camp, the ground was full of feathers because of the pillow fight.

"What fun." Hurvy complained again.

"Now, I'll get the key. And you.. just follow me." I instructed.

"Ugh!" The feathers sticked on our feet. "What a mess!" I whispered.

I was over guarding the people who might see us that I did not see the log just in front of my toes which made me loose my balance.

Puff! It felt like landing on clouds. Hurvy pulled over and stooped down with me.

We were like birds who just dipped in a pool of chocolate.

Denrose's POV

We, the 'Mean Girllys' were still awake and were still talking about their crushes.

"Hush." Summer, the head 'Mean Girlly' shushed. "Girllys? Did you heard something?"

Then, we heard footsteps. We immediately hid under our pink sparkly blankets.

"What's that?" Junlene frozed in fright.

"Someone go check what's happening outside!" Summer squeaked.

We looked at each other. We heard more footsteps.

Kristine Dolly took the courage to go out and see what's happening.

"Ahhh!!!" She screamed and dropped her iPhone8s. "It's!!!... it's-- ahhh!"

The three of us and some of our classmates heard Kristine's scream.

Eljin's POV

When, Pichina G. saw us, "It's the enormous birds!!" She howled.

Enormous birds? That's offensive.

"No! Listen! I'm Eljin!" I screamed. "Please! Listen to me." I added with my voice stretched. "I know it's hard to explain but--" All of the sudden, a rock whacked me, it's a good thing I dodged.

Thank goodness! My kung fu moves are still alive!

But what's important right now is that I have to convince my classmates that I'm not a monster.

"Hurvy! Please help me persuade them!" I pleaded.

"How can you tell them when all I can see is chaos... and you almost got hit by a rock! Are you okay, by the way?" Hurvy asked.

"I'm fine!" I replied as everyone threw things at us.

"I've got an idea!" Hurvy blurted.

"What?!? What?!? What?!?"

"Let's scare them!"

"WHAT?!? I don't think it's a good idea."

He grabbed my hand which are not handcuffed to his. "Trust me." He whispered and then, a marshmallow hit us and broke our moment. "Come on, let's chase them!"

Pichina G. ran as fast as she could in small circles. "Help me! Help me!"

"Cool!" Alexia sat beside her tent, enjoying the fiasco.

"This is awesome, Al." Bianca sat beside her and they ate their popcorns together, enjoying the scene.

Charles grabbed his camera. "I should not miss this." He recorded the scene. "Can you believe this? An actual footage of the enormous bird in Carlo's story. So this is how big 'enormous' is?" He smirked. "Interesting fact! Enormous means extraordinarily great in size, number, or degree, but I can't see 'enormous' with this creature." He said to no one in particular. "It's not big enough."

That time, no one saw light. Everything was gloomy, pitch-black and dusky.

McRichy's POV

Meanwhile, in a tent where I was hiding, I secretly called my connections to the U.S. Air Force.

"Hello? Is this the U.S. Air Force's line?" I spoke seriously.

"Yes, sir. This is Cadet G. speaking to you, sir. What can I do for you?" He replied firmly.

"I need an ax. Right now!"

"Location?"

"Thirty-two point six degrees west of  Cheveux de Cheval Resort in California, in a campsite near the Cheveux de Cheval Forest."

Cadet G. piloted his computer, searching for the location and then connected his line to another Cadet.

"We need an ax for Mr. McRichy in that location. Send the plane, immediately." Cadet G. ordered.

"Copy." The Cadet answered.

"The ax will be there in thirty seconds, sir." Cadet G. informed McRichy.

"Thank you." I replied and ended the call.

After a few seconds, the box which contained the ax landed through a parachute in front of my tent.

I opened the box and grappled the ax. I got out of my tent, carrying the heavy ax. I saw the monster scaring Pichina G. and raised my ax aiming for the bird's head. Since the ax was too heavy, I lost my balance and axed the wrong target.

Eljin's POV

We were scaring Pichina when suddenly, both of my arms felt chainless.

Jose McRichy just cut the chains of the handcuff.

"I'm free!" I yelled. Hurvy and I separated for a few meters away.

Jose was so confused why we split into two. He thought that the 'monster' was cloned.

He panicked, dropping his ax and ran away, shouting, "Double! Double! Double!!!" He screamed unmanly.

Then, Carlo looked back and stared at me, looking confused

"Carlooooooo!" I shouted weirdly, thirst for his attention.
