Dear Ansley,
I was wide awake last night pretty much freaking out about everything. After all the things we have been through on that island... Nothing is ever going to get back to normal. We lost the ones we love, we have grown hatred for each other, we are still being hunted, it's all too much.
You have every reason to hate me and I understand why Jake hates me, it's my fault after all. We were on the island because of me. Sarah died because of me. Everyone that has died... Their deaths are all on my hands and the guilt is slowly killing me.
I understand why you sent me to this place and I don't hate you for it. Just know that once school starts, I am not going to be that same girl anymore. Thanks for sticking by me,
-Alex
2 months later..."Welcome home!" Ansley wraps me in a hug and I smile.
"Thanks, did you dye your hair?" She twirls around with a smile.
"Do you like it?"
"I love it" her hair is a mixture of blonde and caramel now. Other than that she pretty much still looks the same. Same height, same face, same look. Wish I could say the same.
"And I see you dyed yours as well" she comments and I shrug.
"I didn't really have a choice, they didn't allow color in the hair so I had to dye it back. Where's Jake?" Ansley puts her head down and panic raises in me. Last time she did this we found Josh's body on the island.
"Well a lot has changed since you've left... He has a girlfriend now and he lives with her" she says nervously
"Wow. He couldn't even wait two months. I get it, I kind of like someone too" she smiles and squeals.
"Who!" She asks interestedly but it came out as more of a demand causing me to chuckle.
"My doctor. His name is Derek and he is a year older than us and goes to our school. I know your confused but it's a really long story" she pulls me into another hug.
"Well I'm happy for you" she says with a smile. "So any guys in your life? I see the media died down" she shakes her head.
"Nope, I'm still single and yeah the media sort of died down when Jake moved out, they are probably going to come back considering that you are back and we're starting school tomorrow" she sighs. I notice that she's avoiding the subject. What's going on?
"Ansley, you know if something happened you can tell me right?" She sighs and continues.
"Andrew King is dead"
"So? What's the problem?"
"He's been dead for six years" I start panicking.
"Then who the hell was that on the island claiming to be him? Oh no. Oh no. You know what this means right?"
"No"
"It means that we are in the middle of something big. Whoever this guy is, he's not going to back down. It means that something bigger than we ever imagined is coming, and it's going to hit us hard"
