I actually did throw up. Then I cried for what felt like hours. I basically cried until morning, I didn't sleep at all. Once I figured that everyone was asleep, I walked over to my hideout and I crawled up into a ball. Memories from when we were younger pops into my head.
"Come on Car that's not fair!" Max whines while stomping his feet.
"No, what's not fair is that you suck at sports" she teases, Max pouts.
"Don't listen to her Max, you are special and that's all that matters-"
"Yeah you're special too, your a goth daredevil." Even back then I was into dark stuff, but I'm not goth.
"And you're a psy-freak!"
"It's pronounced psychic genius"
I laugh at the memory. Carson, Max and I were mad at each other for about a week after that but our dad made us make up and I'm glad that he did because we all came together when he died a couple months later. Another memory of before we left for the boat pops into my head.
"Carson, what's wrong? Are you having a premonition?" She shakes her head as if she's coming back to reality. "Thank god your okay, now come on we are leaving soon let's go" I say while walking away and she grabs my wrist.
"Don't go"
"You know it's not my choice, it's moms."
"Don't go. Something bad is going to happen. I sense it, please just don't go" this raises a little bit of panic in me, usually whenever she has a premonition or she senses something it comes true.
"Car, what is going to happen?"
"Car, Alex, Max, were leaving!" I start walking out but she grabs my wrist again.
"Be careful. It lies beneath you" she whispers. I walk out with fear.
Jakes POV
I woke up to the sound of the waves crashing. I swear this island is so weird, one part is an ocean, then there the woods, then there's a lake. I look over and see that Alex is not here.I have a feeling I know where she is, at the log by the lake. I start walking over to the log and I see that she is shaking. I run over to her and start cradling her but I realize she's not crying. She's sleeping.
"Alex, Alex wake up you are having a bad dream" I say apprehensively. The way she wakes up looked as if she's gasping for air. "Are you okay?" She pulls away from me and almost falls into the lake but I catch her before she could fall.
"I'm fine. Stop saving me"
"I'll never stop saving you. I love you-"
"Why? Why do you love me when all I've ever been to you was rude? I don't deserve you. Why don't you hate me?" She says with a poker face.
"I don't hate you because I know you're going through a rough patch. I don't hate you because I like your style. I don't hate you because I love you"
"But why? I don't deserve-"
"Stop saying that! Out of all people you deserve what's best! You have been through so much and you deserve to be happy and I know that you hate me but I am and always will be here for you no matter what. I'm not going anywhere, just let me in" I say while walking closer to her but she steps back and she pulls at her hair.
