My body begins to tingle, a good tingle. It starts in my fingertips and rages through my body like a wildfire. From my head to my toes, I feel euphoric. I could stay like this forever. Trapped within my own little world of perfection and bliss. I have a new awareness of myself. Hyperactive. Almost as if I can feel and control every cell in my body.

I feel warm and gooey inside. I feel wonderful, yet there is something familiar about the feeling. I get a new feeling. A feeling of deja vu. I've never felt like this before right? For sure I would most definitely remember feeling like this. I mean. I would right? The warmth slowly  turns to a burning hot sensation covering my body. No. My eyes are shut, and I can't seem to find the strength to pull them open. No. The burning sensation grows more intense and my energy drains as I try to force my eyelids to open. No.

When I was 16, well, just a couple days after my brother and I had turned 16, I got in a really bad car accident. I had been on my way home from a friends house when a semi truck lost control on the icy road and ran through a red light right into the side of my small blue car. It knocked me out right on the spot. I actually couldn't remember any of it, so all I know are recounts from family members and doctors. I suppose that's a good thing though. Concussion, broken arm, dislocated knee, dislocated elbow. I was only stuck in a coma for a couple of days. Broken femur, black eye, lots and lots of bruising, scrapes cuts, I think you get the jist. I had to have various surgeries to correct bones and fix tendons. I was stuck in the stupid hospital for months. When I finally awoke for the first time after the crash though, I was on a morphine drip. Turns out it was the morphine that woke me. My reaction had been a bit different than they were expecting.

Morphine

My eyes snap open. I look down at my arms to find small red bumps spreading down to my hands, and up across my chest; soon covering most of my body. The panic instantly sets in. My vision blurs and I scratch vigorously at the red bumps as they grow larger and larger before my eyes. My skin itches and burns. Hot tears stream down my face. I see what look like millions of fire ants crawl across my skin, biting every inch of skin till there's no skin left to bite. They cover me crawling into my eyes, mouth, ears, nose. Screaming in agony, I hit and claw at them leaving large gashes in my own skin. My head is pounding. My entire body is on fire, I'm sweating uncontrollably. I can't breathe. My body lurches in the bed, I feel nothing but pain. Excruciating pain. I claw at my face to clear the ants, screaming for someone to help me. My energy quickly fades. I writhe and scratch and scream and cry until I come close to passing out from lack of oxygen. When I actually do, it comes as a blessing.

The darkness returns, the pain disappears, I feel a chilling cold envelop me. I welcome it.

Wow.
I enjoyed writing this chapter. It is different than what I usually write, and I thought it was more descriptive.

I've never written a book of this genre before, so this is a first for me! Let me know what you guys think!

Also, make sure to check out my new book Sunday! Updates are every friday. Thanks for reading!
