Chapter 9

I wiped a tear from my eyes and asked them, "So what do you think?"

"Wow Nami. You set them on a date?" Chopper asked admiring Nami's love skills.

"Well. It seems like Nami knows how to set up dates." Robin said smiling.

"So Nami, what happened next?" Usopp asked. It seems like he was more into the story than the others. Besides, he listens to everyone's story.

Nami replied with a smirk."What happened next was the best part."

They were both quiet. Him and Laura looked at each other gulping. Success! I thought in my head. I smiled and sat down. "Well what are you two doing?" She pushed both of their heads so they would sit down. I sat next to Laura waiting for someone.

"Nami?" Laura whispered to me still paying attention to HIM.

(I know his nickname is Badass. But I don't like it. So I'll say 'him'.)

"Well," I stared at her blushing face. I crossed my arms and grinned. "Where's my 'thank you'?" She squeezed me until I had to say, 'I can't breathe.'   "I'm your wing woman, ok." And that's when I saw him, that idiot.

"Who was it?!" Usopp yelled, clearly pissed off. "Don't stop when it's at the best part!"

"Yohohoho. Usopp, don't you see? It's Nami's crush." Brook said laughing.

"Whaaaaaaat????"

"Bakas!" Nami punched them. "Don't interrupt me now!" She cleared her throat. "He wasn't my crush. He was my friend."

His name was Kid. At this time Kid was young so he was caring. I called him up to be the wingman for HIM. We talked to each other a lot. He came up to our table. Where Laura, HIM, and I were sitting. I got up and fist pumped him. "What took you so long, Kid?" I said smirking. He just smiled and sat next to HIM.

"What are you doing here?" HE asked.

"I'm your wingman, bro." Kid said smiling. He looked at Laura and winked at her. Laura gulped. "So you're Laura, huh?" Kid asked.

Laura slowly grabbed something from her bag. "Get away!" Laura tried to hit Kid with a book but luckily he ducked.

I stopped her before she could hit him once more. "He's cool." I said.

Laura glanced at me and gasped. "You're actually friends with this guy? Wait.....You hang out with him without even telling me!" I realized this was getting nowhere. This is a date between Laura and HIM.

I grabbed Kid's arms and winked at Laura. "I need to talk to Kid. Have fun you two."

"Hold it!" Usopp said stopping.

"Nami-swan, you mean you knew Kid already?" Sanji asked.

"Yeah. Why're you so surprised?" Namis finally spoke.

"We met him before." Luffy replied.

Nami glanced at Zoro and realizing he wasn't sleeping like he usually does. It seems like he really wanted to hear. He just started fighting Usopp. It looked like they were arguing so I shrugged. She interrupted everyone's conversation and continued on. "Anyways, let's continue to the story shall we?"

I leaned against a wall. Laura and HIM couldn't see Kid and I so they started up a conversation. Kid sat down and crossed his arms.

"Why're you helping him?" Kid said out of nowhere.

I looked at him with an angry look. Is he stupid? I thought. "Why are you helping ME?" I said arguing with him.

"Don't get mad, ok? I'm just saying. I mean, what has he done for you." Kid asked. "Is he really your friend?"

I sighed. I realized Kid doesn't know his story. For HIS best friend, it seems like he didn't tell Kid of what's going on. "Remember when he was popular? Just a badass guy with girls all over him? The one who thinks he can do whatever he wants? The one who wants all the attention? Well guess what Kid?" I sat down in front him. "He changed."

Kid still closed his eyes, thinking about what I said. "Exactly. YOU changed him, Nami. Is Laura the one HE really loves?"

I wanted to slap him. I wanted to give him a piece of my mind. How dare he say that? My hair covered my eyes. I glanced at Laura. She was happy. She was enjoying herself. She loved him. And I would never take that away from her. Then I looked at HIM. He was smiling and laughing. HE was enjoying himself, too. He loves Laura. I know it.

Nami stared at her crew. They were crying. Well except Zoro. Was it that sad? Nami thought. Nami realized that they actually felt the pain she was feeling. They understood what was happening. They listened. And that made her so happy. She was grateful. No. Thankful. She was thankful to find friends like them. And she's proud to call them her nakama.

"Nami," Usopp sniffed and dug his hands in the dirt. "P-please continue." He wiped his tears and listened as Nami continued.

I realized the bell rang. I was about to get up, but then I realized......Kid. Kid got up and was about to leave. But before he did, I stood in front of him. I hugged him. Kid never does this kind of stuff. But when it comes to me, he would do it. "Thanks." I breathed out. I waved bye and ran up to Laura. She had a blushing face. Looks like HE flirted with her. She stared at my face and gave me a huge hug.

"You're the best Nami! I can't believe you did this for me!" Laura smiled and said, "Oh yeah, HE said he wants to talk to you after school. Just meet him in the halls." She waved bye and we both went to our next class.

After school I waited for HIM. What did he want to talk about? I was worried. Was he mad cause Kid and I teased him? I thought positive and grinned. Or he wants me to setup another date with Laura? I walked around the halls. It looked like HE was waiting for me. We were the only ones in school I suppose. Today is spring break. HE was leaning against a wall. He crossed his arms and his hair was covering his eyes. Yup. He's mad. I went up to him scared.

"Uh, hey." I said waving my right hand. And that's when it happened.
