Bombs fell from the sky destroying everything they touched. I rushed around my room trying to find it, the picture of our family taken years before the war. It was one of the only pictures that made me feel safe. "Ivy we need to go." My mum exclaimed when she found me.
"Alright, I've found it." I said as I grabbed the picture and ran out of my room. We were knocked to the wall by an explosion from our street. "We have to hurry." My mum grabbed my hand and pulled me to the shelter. Before we got there we were toppled over by another explosion causing me to trip into the shelter and into my mother's arms. "We're safe now darling." I was shaking badly like I always was when I was scared. My mother tried to squeeze me tighter so I would feel comforted and would stop shaking but it didn't work.
I was woken up by someone sitting next to me. "Are you okay?" A voice asked. I sat up and turned to the owner of the voice. It was a boy with blonde hair who was probably a year or two older than me. "Yes, I'm fine thank you." I replied with a small smile. In the cabin was four children. The boy who had woken me up, a girl with beautiful dark hair, a young boy and a young girl, who looked like the youngest. I was so embarrassed. I had a dream about the war, like I normally did, and started shaking in my sleep. Brilliant. For the rest of the trip I leaned my head against the window and just stared at the outside world passing by. I felt the children's stares at me sometimes and it made me feel anxious. I hoped that they weren't going to the same place as me.
