Everywhere around me was white. The trees, the ground, the sky. Everything. The snow covered the whole of Narnia like a blanket. I was being carried through the woods by someone. A warm blanket was wrapped around me and I was being held close to their chest. With a closer look I saw that it was my dad. Where were we? "It's okay Ivy." He reasurred. "We can do this. We'll be fine." I wanted to know what we were running from but I was too afraid to ask. He was dressed like a knight with metal armor covering his whole body. "We'll get home safely." He repeatedly muttered. We reached a lamp post, which was strange considering that we were in the woods. "They're coming."
I woke up drenched in sweat. My eyes shot open and I sat up. I was used to nightmares but not them kind. For some reason it felt familiar. I couldn't fall back to sleep and the two other girls were still asleep so I decided to get washed and ready for the day ahead.
I must have been up so early because the others were still asleep. I decided to do something that I didn't think I would ever do. I was going to the wardrobe. It was strange that I had a dream about Lucy's Narnia from my perspective as a small child so it was only right to investigate... Right? Of cource it could have just have been something that I made up but there's no harm in trying.
I tiptoed up to the room with the wardrobe just hoping that no one would wake up and see me. They would think that I was insane. I silently opened the door to the room, closed it and admired the wardrobe in front of me. Anything could happen from now. Before I knew it, my hand was touching the handle and I opened the door. It was like something wanted me to investigate the wardrobe and whatever it was succeeded.
I pushed the coats in the wardrobe to the side as I made my way through. Instead of walking into the back of the wardrobe, I kept going. Soon I felt something crunching under my feet and it wasn't wood. It was snow. The coats turned into branches and I emerged from the wardrobe into a beautiful snow-covered woods.
I smiled and twirled as snowflakes dropped onto my head. It was amazing. Lucy wasn't crazy after all. And after all of that, Edmund was the liar. I started walking through the woods, taking in all of the beautiful sights. One thing that did confuse me though was a lamp post next to the trees. It was identical to the one in my dream.
Breaking my fun were sleigh bells ringing in the distance. It could have been nothing but, by instinct, I ran behind a tree. A sleigh being pulled by beautiful reindeer stopped in it's tracks. I peered around the tree to see a small man jumping off of the sleigh. Lucy has said something about dwarfs being in Narnia. "I thought I saw someone." A female voice said. I couldn't see her face because she was facing away from me. "Go and look. It could be a son of Adam or daughter of Eve." The dwarf bowed and started walking towards me.
I pulled my head back and leaned against the tree just hoping that he wouldn't see me. I placed my shaky hands over my mouth to muffle my heavy breathing. The dwarf had a knife so I wouldn't want to cross paths with him. I heard his footsteps getting closer and my hands shook more. I had never been more scared. "Aha!" A voice cheered. I felt a tug on my cardigan and I was pulled out of my hiding spot. "Your highness! I found a daughter of Eve." The dwarf shouted. I was able to loosen his grip on my wrist and ran away. "Get her!" The woman ordered. I didn't know where I was going, I just knew that I had to get away. I was defenceless and vulnerable. And he had a knife.
I was running out of breath and sleigh bells were getting closer and closer to me. I must give up. Suddenly, I felt another tug on my cardigan and I was pulled behind a rock. Someone pulled me down so I was on my knees and they put their hand over my mouth. I looked at the grabber and it was a man. He put a finger to his lips and I nodded. The sleigh went past us and the man removed his hand from over my mouth. "Thank you, sir." I said.
"You're welcome." He said. The man stood up then offered me his hand. I took it and stood up. It was only then that I realised that he was no man at all. He had legs like a goat's but the upper body of a man. "I'm Tumnus. In case you were wondering, I'm a faun." This was Mr Tumnus!? "Tell me, do you know Lucy Pevencie?"
"Yes. I do. I'm Ivy Watson." I smiled and he smiled back.
"Ah yes. Lucy told me about you." I smiled again.
"All good things I hope."
"She said that you were kind." I felt so warm inside after he told me that. She thought that I was kind. At least she didn't say crazy. "Well, I must be getting back home before I get chased by a sleigh again."
"Would you like me to walk you back? It's easy to get lost in these woods."
"That would be nice. Thank you." Mr Tumnus put up his umbrella and walked me to the lamp post.
Mr Tumnus told me that the woman in the sleigh was the White Witch. She called herself the queen of Narnia but she wasn't. She means to kill the sons of Adam and the daughters of Eve (A.K.A. The Pevencies and me).
Once at the lamp post, Mr Tumnus and I said goodbye. "Oh and one more thing Ivy." He added. "Please take care of Lucy. If she comes back on her own, I fear that I may not be here to stop the White Witch from taking her." I nodded in agreement then ran back into the wardrobe.
Time seemed to have stopped while I was in Narnia. My theory was proved when I went back to my room and the girls were still asleep. I sat on my bed for a while thinking about Narnia. It was such a wonderful, yet dangerous, place. I needed to tell Lucy. If her family didn't believe her then someone had to.
