Rules

Matapos ang lahat... hindi pala kami nakalabas. Yun  na yun? Matapos kaming sumiksik, mahimatay at mabalian ng buto... di kami nakalabas.

Ano to, joke? Walang A for Effort?

"Before you eat your dinner, I would like to conduct your orientation. Since evident in your first test that some of you are not particular with the rules."

Matalim na napatingin sa akinsi Headmaster Victor. Napalunok ako.

"But since you are freshmen, you are all exempted...SA NGAYON."

Binawi niya ng ngiti ang matalim niyang tingin. Pero ramdam ko ang pagmamatyag niya sa akin.

"Okay first I would like to tell you about the rules of the University. All students must abide with the rules. Any rule-breaking will be punishable according to the extent of the act. Pero wag kayong makampante..."

Sa pagkakasabiniya ng mga tagalog wordsna iyon... parang gugustuhin mong mag-English nalang ulit siya. Ang lutong... tagos.

"Even the minor acts are paired with the most cruel punishments."

Tumahimik lahat ng nasa kwarto. Naglakbay ang mga tingin ni Sir Victor sa bawat isa sa amin... Nang mapunta sa akin ang titig niya, matalim siyang tumikhim at nagpatuloy sa pagsasalita. Sa pagkakataong iyon, alam kong lahat ay nasa kanya ang atensyon. Lahat... susundin siya. Ethos Power... the ability to capture the attention of every soul.

"Rule Number One. You must wear proper uniform during class hours and assembly periods. Breaking this will give you a 3-hour detention."

Reward? Anong reward?

"Rule Number Two. Freshmen are separated from the higher levels. You can only see them during special events. There will be barriers in each department. Going beyond the barriers is an easy 8-hour ticket to detention house."

Teka. Sana naman sinasabi kung ano yung rewards ano.

"Rule Number Three. Damage of any school property, unless needed for training purposes, is prohibited. 10 hours of detention and 60 less Reward points will be issued to those who do."

BAKIT LAHAT NAKATINGIN SA AKIN? Ngayon lang nakakita ng maganda? Alam ko naman na mali ako, shunga ako, padalos-dalos ako. Pero yung mga tingin niyo parang papatayin ako.

"Rule Number Four. You must not attack any personnel, instructor, adviser or even your fellow students unless in a training class or sparring session with the guidance of the trainers. As Androids, mutts, Orgons and Chips for 18 years , by now you must be able to control your power and prevent any assault towards one another. The punishment may lead to torture detention or even expulsion depending on the action and impact."

Kahit batok lang? Kahit suntok kunyare... OA ah. Pero may point naman. Kapag intense na ang competition at lahat ay game face on, dapat lang may security na hindi kami magpapatayan. Iniisip ko pa lang na aabot sa puntong magpapatayan ang mga mukhang nakikita ko ngayon, nasusura na ako. 

"Number Five,  no black propaganda, secret societies, underground clubs with nonacademic or suspicious motives will be allowed. Organizations with approval of the headmaster shall be the only legal ones. If illegal groups are found, all members will be expelled."

Bakit naman may gagawa ng illegal group? Ano naman ang mga 'suspicious motives' ng mga iyon.

"The most important rule not only of the school but also of the island. Never get pregnant."
