"Skylar?!" Heather called. Skylar was sitting on her table starring down at her hands.
"Heather? Wha-what are you doing here?" She cried looked around nervously.
"I just had to-" Heather stuttered.
"Get out of here! Go! Hurry, before he come's back." Skylar said jumping up from the table pushing Heather out of the room and she slammed the door closed. Heather sighed and walked to her next class.
Christmas was right around the corner for Heather and the others. The halls were decorated with Christmas lights and small trees. On Christmas Eve Heather had a wonderful Christmas feast. Grace showed her the power pellets. The Water ones were bright blue. The Fire ones were dark red. The Earth ones were green. The Animal ones were dark brown. The Mind ones were violet. The Ice one's were white. Heather bit into a ice one. It tasted good but her teeth felt rather cold.
Heather woke up Christmas morning with two large rapped boxes on her bed. Abby was already awake and opening hers.
Heather unwrapped the first one. If was from her mother and father. A book. It was a math book. She sighed. Her parents thought she was at some stupid school for smart people. She threw the book aside and ripped open the next one. It was from her grand parents. They had given her a box of toffee's and striped scarf. Heather had an idea. She grabbed the book and the toffees and rapped them back up. Heather raced up the hallway towards Skylar's door. She peaked under the crack first to make sure "Mr. Evil" wasn't in there. She opened the door. Skylar was watching the wall strangely, like she was looking for something she had been waiting for.
"Skylar." Whispered Heather.
"Heather? I told you not to come back! Do you know how much trouble I'd get in? I don't know what they'd do to you." Skylar said walking up to Heather.
"Skylar, I just came to wish you a merry Christmas and give you these." Heather smiled and handed Skylar the gifts. She tore them open. Skylar opened the Toffee box and swallowed one. She rubbed her stomach. Then Skylar examined the book.
"What's this?" She asked. Her anger had disappeared.
"Its a math book. I thought you could look into it." Heather shrugged.
"Its the thought that counts huh? Skylar grinned. Heather rolled her eyes.
"So why didn't you get any gifts from your family?" Heather questioned.
"Well, Uh.....I didn't really know my family much. I was taken here at a young age." She sighed.
"You mean you never knew your family, due to that doctor guy?" Heather gasped.Skylar nodded.
