Author's Note: Hey guys! I thought I'd put this up here because I wanted to and just for something to read since I am working on my one shot requests. I also always wanted my own one shot to be displayed. This is literally real life me, just as a hedgehog and getting a sweet guy. ^^. I hope you enjoy this for now as requests are being worked on.-------------------------------------------
Lately, Sarah the Hedgehog had been entrusted to watch her little brother, Harrison, as her parents took a vacation down in the country. She worried though that her work would interfere too much since her older brother, who stayed home and usually stayed in his room, would never really come out to help care for the small hedgehog boy. Due to work, Sarah was barely able to be around to watch her little brother so she thought of looking for a babysitter.
Sarah thought of her friends to see if she could trust them to babysit. She thought of the possibilities and outcomes of how things would turn out between them and her hyper-active brother. "Shadow? Nah, he'd get annoyed of my brother. Sonic? Hm, I don't know. He might not like being cooped up in my house all day. Also, I would be worried if he left the house whether he took my brother with him or not," Sarah pondered to herself. After sorting through the most of her friends, someone trustworthy and who was always willing to help came to mind.
"Perfect! I'll give him a call now," Sarah said, reaching for the phone. Nervousness grew with each ring. She had a huge crush on this particular friend, but was too afraid to admit it due to fear of rejection
"Hello?" A voice answered.
"O-oh hi, Silver."
"Hey, Sarah! What's up?"
"Nothing much. I'm just looking for a babysitter while my parents are gone and as I go to work. Would you...want to babysit my little brother for a few weeks?" Sarah asked. Silence emerged and Sarah frowned, thinking Silver hated the idea.
"I just checked my schedule. I'm free so yeah, I would love to babysit! It'd give me something to do," he laughed. Sarah beamed a bright smile and blushed a bit. "O-ok, thanks! If it's ok with you, can you start Monday?" She asked. Silver hummed in thought over the phone.
"Yes, I can do that," he answered.
"Thanks, Silv. You don't mind if I call you that do you??? I mean because I know some people don't like nicknames and-."
"Haha! Of course! I don't mind. No need to worry."
"Ok, good. Welp, I'll see ya Monday, ok?"
"Ok, Sarah. Goodnight."
"G-goodnight," Sarah stuttered. Finally, she was off the phone but continued feeling the burning in her cheeks.
Finally, Monday had arrived and Sarah was rushing to get things around before work, as usual. It was 6:35am and she was incredibly tired until the doorbell jolted her awake for a moment. She fixed and straightened her quills as she approached the door. "Hey, Sarah!" Silver said as he waved a hand, after Sarah had opened the door. Sarah smiled nervously and waved back. "Good to see you. Sorry you had to come here so early," Sarah apologized, looking to her feet.
Silver chuckled and lifted a finger. "No, I slept pretty good, but you on the other hand, you look like you could use some more rest. You look kinda cute when your sleepy though," he giggled. Sarah's cheeks felt like they went up in flames, like they always easily had done whenever Silver complimented her. Unfortunately, Sarah did not agree with him. "I'm not cute...nor attractive," she sadly mumbled quietly to herself, unknowing that Silver had heard her.
"Oh no! I'm going to miss the bus! See ya Silver. And thanks again!" Sarah said, running out the door. Silver waved then made his way to the couch, waiting for Sarah's little brother to wake up. He had a small bag with him, which he sat on the floor. He dug through it and pulled out his iPod. He listened to some techno along with his favorite song Dreams of an Absolution.
Hours had past and Sarah had finally arrived home. Immediately, Silver had to leave in order to help Sonic and his friends to fight Dr. Eggman. Sarah sighed, wishing she could talk to him but she was too tired to worry about that. "Did You like Silver watching you?" She asked her brother, who bolted into the room. "Yeah! He played with me, fed me, and was really really nice!" Harrison said happily. Sarah smiled happily, knowing she picked a great babysitter so far.
A few weeks had past and Sarah had finally earned a day off for the next day. She slept in for quite a long time, not noticing her little brother had awakened before her. Finally, around noon, Sarah sat up as her quills sprung out in different directions. She decided not to fix them until after freshening up, and eating. After she had finished, and still wearing her pajamas which was a t-shirt with pants, she rushed down the stairs.
Bolting into the kitchen, Sarah looked for some cereal to munch on. "Boo!" A voice shouted from behind her. Startled, Sarah whipped herself around and backed into the tall cupboard, banging her head. "Ouch!" She said as she rubbed her head. "I-I am so sorry, Sarah! I-I didn't mean for that to happen," a voice frantically apologized. Before Sarah's vision cleared, she felt two arms pulling her into a hug. Immediately she felt a big tuff of white fur cushioning her head and a hand stroking her messy bedhead.
"Silver?" Sarah asked curiously. "Sarah, I am so sorry! I know you have bad eyesight, and if you can't see now, it's all my fault! I am so sorry!" They began to whimper. Sarah lifted her head to see that the person holding her was indeed Silver. Tears began to crawl down his cheeks as he closed his eyes tight. Sarah blushed a dark red, knowing Silver was holding her and seeing how much he cared for her. She chuckled a bit. "It's ok. I can see now. No harm done. Please don't cry. I didn't have to be such a scaredy cat," she laughed through the slight pain that throbbed on her head.
Silver lightly smiled in relief after hearing Sarah could see, but frowned again. "I still feel guilty for scaring you and causing this bump on your head," he said while rubbing the bump. Sarah lifted her head and looked into Silver's beautiful golden eyes. "Silver, I said it's ok. I can tell that you care and that's all that matters," Sarah smiled sweetly. Silver looked back into Sarah's large pupils, since she lacked an iris in both eyes, and smiled. "I care for you a lot," he said, blushing.
After explaining that he had come, not knowing Sarah had the day off, Silver continued babysitting. Sarah decided to help him, and together they tired her brother out. "I didn't know you could be so funny, goofy and wild like that, Silver," Sarah said happily. Silver chuckled, a bit embarrassed to have Sarah see that side of him. "Eh, it's only when I watch this little guy. If I do that around anyone else, like Blaze for example, they think I'm acting like a child or being immature ," Silver said sadly as he twiddled his thumbs. Sarah frowned, feeling bad for Silver.
Suddenly, Sarah knew how to cheer Silver up. "I know how you feel. I really do. I act like that too and people frown upon me. Over time, I've learned to embrace my inner child, ignoring what others think. If being a bit childish makes you happy, then let it out," Sarah said softly, clasping her hands together. Silver gasped, looking up to Sarah. Knowing she was right, Silver smiled sweetly, and decided he'd be open and vulnerable like Sarah was when admitting she liked being a bit childish.
As Sarah sat with her legs close together and her hands still clasped tight, a cyan glow emitted around her. "What the?" She asked in surprise. Silver had lifted her with his psychokinesis as he moved her into his lap. Setting her down gently, Silver wrapped his arms around her stomach. Before Sarah could question his actions, Silver came close to her ear. "Thanks for saying that! I really appreciate you liking my childish side," he whispered. Sarah shivered as his warm breath tickled her ear.
"Y-you're welcome," Sarah stammered. She was still confused as to why Silver had her in his lap, so she fidgeted and squirmed a bit. Silver chuckled. "You're cute when you're nervous. Please don't say you aren't. I heard you last time when you said you were unattractive. You really are, you just have to accept it and not listen to others. Just like how you ignored them about being childish," Silver whispered sweetly. Sarah's heart warmed and she blushed at what Silver had said. She nodded in response and tensed a bit.
"Relax, I won't hurt you. I sat you in my lap so I would be able to have you close while I tell you something. Ever since we've gotten to really know each other, I've come to realize that I...that I-I...love you," Silver admitted, blushing so hard that his cheeks were redder than Knuckles the Echidna. Suddenly, Sarah's full face flushed into a deep red. "And so I wanted to ask," Silver began, "Would you like to be my girlfriend"? The words Silver spoke echoed through Sarah's mind. The words repeated inside her mind, not used to those words at all.
"Ye-yes. I would love that because...I've loved you all this time, too," Sarah responded, embarrassed. Silver smiled, knowing he wasn't being rejected. Slowly, he placed his hands on Sarah's waist while he nuzzled softly into her neck, making Sarah gasp in surprise. "I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable," Silver said, lifting his head. "Oh no, your fine. It's just...I didn't ever get this kind of attention before really, so I'm kinda new to it. It might take some getting used to," Sarah explained.
Suddenly, Sarah was turned around by Silver's telekinesis in order to have her facing him. He sat her across his lap as he held her close, supporting her back and legs. Before any of them could say a word, Silver leaned in and kissed Sarah shyly and passionately. His soft, warm lips locked in perfectly with hers as he lightly put more pressure onto her lips. Sarah's eyes were opened wide at the sudden gesture.
After a few more seconds, Sarah started to sink into the kiss. She placed a hand onto Silver's chest fur as she played with it, which made Silver smile in the kiss. Finally, they broke apart for air and smiled at each other. "I'm new at this, too, so we can learn together," Silver said softly. Sarah smiled and nodded. She lowered her head as she laid on Silver's warm chest fur which made him purr loudly. "You'll see, I'll be the best boyfriend you ever had!" Silver whispered into her ear. This made Sarah hug Silver tighter, smiling even larger.
Ever since that day, Silver and Sarah enjoyed their time together and were very happy together. Sarah's parents had approval of Silver, which made things even better, even though Sarah was a few years older than him. All in all, the two spent their life together happily as each day entered into a new adventure.~THE END! ^^
