Kitty

Chapter 1

I was exhausted from today and just wanted my dinner looking around from my cot I inspected my cage for the millionth time it took up a quarter of the room with a small cot with my stuffed animal grey, a scratching post, a small metal bucket,my ball and comb and my empty bowls.

I changed positions so I was laying on my side facing the wall my tail swiping along my small quilt. I was extremely board so I grabbed my small comb off the floor and brushed through my hair

once I finished that I started on my tail. it wasn't very fluffy, the guards said it looked like a lionesses tail but white and had no tuft at the end.

I loved my tail and could not imagine life without it. It kept me balanced.

I was snapped out of my thoughts when I herd a loud bang it was followed by more but the scariest part I sounded as if it was right above me.

I stood up and put my hands over my ears. My high tuned Senses just made the loud noises even louder.

The loud noises abruptly cut off, and she was starting to relax when she herd the door that was at the top of the stares behind the door that led to her cage open.

I froze in fear of what was to come those noises had never happened before and I was scared.

I herd voices but I could only make out words due to the sound cancelling walls

"We're"  "keys"  "dead guard" "approach target slowly"

The guards where dead! Master would not be pleased but she could not help but to wonder why they were here?

She could tell they got closer because the fourth step to the bottom squeaked.
I backed up just as the door opened and 2 men dressed in all black with
NSO printed in with lettering on the shoulder entered.

One was taller then the other with black hair and green eyes  and the second man had honey blond hair with grey eyes.

If she was scared before now she was terrified. did master tire of her, were they sent to kill her?

The blonde one put his hands out
"we aren't here to hurt you " he said in a calm voice that was oddly soothing.

"We are new species just like you, we are here to take you away from this place. To make you free and live without being forced into a position of pain and abuse"

I looked at them  confused what is new species? And what does he mean free? I wish I could ask but I couldn't.

What is your name?he seemed to be waiting for my response "Can you speak?"

I shook my head and pointed to my collar. He looked at it with confusion, then turned to the other man who was silently observing.

"Go get the keys"

The man left and the blonde smiled at me reassuringly. The tall man soon returned and passed keys to the blonde

The blonde turned to me and smiled

"My name is engine and this is flint"

He unlocked the cage and opened it. He then held out his hand for me to take. I was so confused as he pulled me out.

I pulled my hand from his, he looked back at me confused I put up a finger singling that he should wait a minute.

I rushed back to my cot and grabbed grey. Remerging engine looked at me confused I just hugged grey closer.

He quickly snapped out of it and guided me out of the door and up the stairs. I was exited I have never left that room, ever.

It was dark but I could see in the dark so I wasn't worried. As we ventured further more people joined us but we're human. I was nervous, but engine was there so I was safe.

I where this trust for the man stemmed from I didn't know. But he was different from the guards, master and he allowed a strange feeling to appear in me.

Safe. I felt safe it was a new feeling and I loved it I no longer felt scared. nervous maybe, but not scared.

Flint walked ahead of us and pushed open the door and what greeted me made my heart stop.
