Two astronauts floated out their ship
With not just any mission in mind;
Their determination outshone the sun
To spread music among all of alien-kind
So one sung a pleasant and soft melody
The other stayed peaceful and quiet
The elfish creatures listened with delight
So the silent one sang her notes high
Their faces fell, frowning at the harmony
Yelling, 'Cacophoneer! Cacophoneer!'
She wept, realizing what a fool she'd been:
They sung on a planet with no atmosphere!
