“And we’ll cover second derivatives tomorrow, you all are free to go,” I say to my last class of the day as they pack up their things and quickly file out of the room.

“Bye, Mr. Pal,” some say as they chatter and laugh, passing through the door. As the last student exits I smile and pull my phone from my desk just as I receive a text message.

Bunny: This place smells like my nana’s house. I chuckle at this, quickly responding.

I’m sorry. I just want to make sure you’re okay. Do you have any more bone pains? I pull out the tests from my AP Calculus class and begin grading as I wait for a response. I’m almost finished with the first test on the stack when my phone vibrates. I check one more equation before opening the message.

Bunny: Yea I know that. A couple new ones and my shins are still bugging me but that’s it. I frown. This sounds bad. Jamie’s been feverish, pale and lethargic recently with bone pains and easy bruising. I have a horrible feeling about what the doctors are going to find. I don’t say any of this, though, because I don’t want to cause any undue stress.

Have the doctors seen you yet? I finish grading the test when my phone goes off.

Bunny: No. Got here 10 mins ago. I frown and worry my bottom lip at this. I really hope I’m overreacting to this. I run a hand through my hair and take a deep breath, trying to calm myself down a bit before responding. As I lift my phone, though, it vibrates again. Bunny: Nvm. Just got called back. Text after exam. Love you.

Love you. I say as I set my phone face down. I place my face in my hands and lean my elbows on the desk. I have a sinking feeling in my gut and I just can’t shake it. There’s something seriously wrong. I can feel it. I just hope it’s not what I think it is. I hope to god I’m overreacting.

Here's the next part! Introducing the secondary plot here with Jensen and Jamie. The two plots WILL collide later on, but for now here's the introduction of the subplot! Picture of Jensen (Mr.Pal) on the side. Thanks for reading :)
