Chapter 5

Max's p.o.v

Im so stoked for lunch!

I know I said that its cause I wanted to get away from Shelby, but i skipped breakfast and Im starving!

Anyways, we're about to leave, so I turn of my computer.

Cant have an accident like last time.

I smile at the memory.

Suddenly, Ross comes up from behind me.

"BOO!!!"

He grabs my shoulder and shaked me.

When he stops, I turn around with an annoyed glare.

"Did I scare you?", he asks excitedly.

"Yeah! Im shaking in my boots!", I say sarcastically.

"But, your not wea-"

"Are you ready to go?"

"Yep! I think we're just waiting on a few people to get ready."

"Hey guys!", someone interrupted.

I look behind Ross and I see, ugh, Shelby.

"Sup Shelbs. You ready to go to lunch?"

what.

"Yep. Im excited! Are you going too Max?"

"Yup! Cant wait.", I say through a forced smile and gritted teeth.

"Cool!"

"Uh, hey Ross? Can I talk to you? In private?", I say as I look at Shelby.

"Um, ok", Shelby replies.

After Shelby leaves, I immediately grab Ross by the shoulders so he can face me.

"What the heck dude!", Ross exclaims.

"No one told me that Shelby was going!"

"Whats wrong with that?"

"She's super annoying! Ross, I know your my best friend, and Shelby's your cousin and all, but Im not gonna lie, man."

"Look, whether you like it or not, Shelby IS coming to lunch with us, and Shelby IS gonna work here. Sorry dude, but its gonna be like that from now on."

Sigh.

He's right.

There's nothing I can do.

So I'll just have to suck it up and deal with it.

"Your right. Ill suck it up. I promise."

"Good. And hey! Maybe you two can become good friends!"

"Pfft! Yeah ok. That'll happen!"

"Okaaaaayyyy"

Shelby's p.o.v

Okaaayy.

Max seemed a little off when Ross said I was going to lunch with them.

Anyways, Max wanted to talk to Ross, so I left them alone.

Im not one to eavesdrop, so I let them have their conversation.

Then, I got bored, so I decide to walk around the offices.

Suddenly, I run into someone.

"Huh? Oh hey Shelby!"

"Hi! Emily, right?"
A-N, i don't know if that's her full name or not, so lets just go with it.

"Yeah! You can just call me Em for short. Everyone else does."

"Oh ok!"

"Anyways, I was just looking for you."

"What for?"

"Me and some of the girls were wondering if you would like to go hang out on Saturday?"

"What girls? I didn't miss them, did I?"

Crap.

"No, they don't work here. But they have YouTube channels too."

"Really?"

Thank god.

I'd really hate to miss someone.

"Yep! So, wanna join us?"

"Absolutely!"

I finally have plans for once!

Im not anti-social, but I just moved here, and I didn't know anyone other than Ross.

Welp!

Off to lunch!
