I heard the alarm and put it on snooze. It's about 7 am. I looked and watched as my wife was sleeping peacefully. Today was the day I was thinking about taking her to and adoption center so we can adopt a kid. I'm praying she says yes because I truly want to have a family with her.

I kissed Demi on the forehead. She opened her eyes and smiled at me.

"Morning baby, I have something planned today, but I need your permission first."

"Sure what's up?"

"Ok Dem, you know I've been wanting a family with you and I want us to have a family already, so I was hoping we can go to the adoption center to see if we can adopt a new child?"

It got quiet.

"No.."

My stomach sort of dropped and I no longer had a smile on my face.

"What?"

"NO."

"Why?"

"Because, I have work, we can't raise a child, plus I'm still in recovery and I don't want a child until I know it's safe."

I looked down. "Ok." was all I managed to say.

Demi pulled the covers over her head and turned over and went back to bed.

I walked out to the balcony and sighed. I was upset. I know she's recovering but I really need a family right now because I'm no longer a cop, I'm actually not even working as anything and it gets lonely in this house because Demi is so busy at work. I don't know why but I began to cry. I did it silently so Demi wouldn't hear. Then the thoughts of what happened months ago when Demi relapsed because of me came to my head. I began crying more. What was going on with me?

After about 20 minutes, I stopped crying. I went back inside the room and got dressed.

"Where are you going?" Demi mumbled.

"On a trip on my motorcycle." I said in a cold way.

"No, babe, last time that happened you got hurt."

"I don't care."

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing I'm fine."

"Is it because I said no about the adoption?"

I shrugged and looked down at the floor. She got up and wrapped her arms around me.

"Truth? I'm just scared. I'm scared we wont be able to provide for the baby. I'm afraid I might be a bad parent," Demi whispered.

I looked into her eyes, "You will not be a bad parent. You'll be an amazing mom. And we can definitely provide for our baby girl or boy ok?" I said kissing her lips after.

"Ok, then let me get dressed. Looks like we're going to be parents" she said with a little smirk. I smiled brightly and waited on the bed until she was done getting dressed.

She got closer to me and looked at my cheeks.

"Tear tracks... were you crying?" she asked worryingly.

"Yeah but don't worry, I'm ok now." I said with a big smile.

She nodded and I grabbed the keys of the car. We got into the car and drove to the place.

We got through the entrance and all and now we were looking at kids.

We were at our third door.

"Now this young boy is actually 4 years old. He's shy and very sweet. His name is Max." the lady of the center said.

She opened the door, and that's when I saw him. My smile grew and my eyes glowed. He.. he will be our baby boy. He was beautiful. Brown hair and ocean blue eyes. He had a big smile just like Demi's. He seemed to like superman like me. He had a superman t-shirt with jeans and boots. He was adorable and absolutely perfect. He saw me and ran to me as if we already had a connection.

"Demi." I said looking at her.

"Yeah?" she said smirking.

"He's the one."

"I know" she said with a big smile.

I bent down and looked at Max.

"Hey baby boy, do you want us to adopt you?"

"Y-yeah!" he said with his adorable Demi smile.

I couldn't help it but to feel joy. I picked him up and Demi kissed his forehead. I know Demi is going to be a good mommy. And from this moment, I knew that in my heart, we will be a happy family.
