I stood there. No words no movement. I just stood there like a statue. Max is missing? How? He's always safe in school. Who would take him? Is someone out to get me? I looked at Demi and saw her crying her eyes out. She looked as if someone broke her heart in half. She started shaking and she was making the movement to run into the bathroom. Knowing what she might wanna do I just wrapped my arms around her tighter.
"I need to." Demi said letting out small sobs.
"No. You have to stay strong. For me, for max." I said holding her.
"Please, if you love me you'll let me do it." Hearing those words reminded me of when I first met her. The first day. Thinking about it sent shivers down my spine. All I did was pull her closer.
"If I really loved you id hold you until the urge is gone. You scar yourself you're scarring me." I kissed her on the forehead until she stopped shaking.
"Let's go find him." I told her.
There was a knock on the door again. It was the same guy.
"What?" Demi said pissed off.
"This letter is for you, it came from someone in the crowd." He said giving her the letter then leaving.
Demi and me looked at eachother and gulped before we opened it together.
It read"Mary,until you tell Demi what me and you did the other night and how I made you scream so hard, you won't get max back." My blood began to boil. Who the fuck would make up this fucking lie?!?
"Dem-" before I can say her name she slapped me really hard.
"You fucking made love to me and you fucked another woman the previous night?" Demi said looking broken yet pissed as hell.
"Demi I didn't cheat on you"
"BULLSHIT" she yelled.
"YOU KNOW WHAT MARY? I FUCKING HATE YOU..AND HAVE YOUR FUCKING WEDDING RING BACK BECAUSE WE ARE SO FUCKING DONE." She said throwing the ring in my face. I stood there speechless. I'm losing her and Max. And she really believes I cheated? I watched her get up. She looked at me with disgust and walked out the door. I looked at my phone. Tears started to stream down my cheeks as I stared at my wallpaper that was a picture of me and Demi and max. I then got a text message.
Text convo:
"She broke up with you, that's good, but if you want Max back you have to tell her the little lie."
"Who the fuck are you?"
"You know me but you'll never figure out who. So what's it gonna be? Max or no max? Oh and Mary? When you tell her you also have to add on that you never loved her and that you used her for sex and money."
"Why?!?!! Why are you doing this to me?"
"Instead of wondering who you should go find Demi and tell her what I told you to say. The little boy doesn't have much time."
*end of text convo*
When I read the text my heart dropped. I love Demi but max is my son. And I can't let him die. I took a deep breath and made a loud sigh. I had to lie to Demi, I had to break her heart even if it kills me.
I walked outside to find Demi and when I did I grabbed her hand and made her face me. Her face was really red and it looked like she cried an ocean. Fuck this is gonna be hard.
"Demi.."
"WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU WANT?"
"The other night I did fuck another girl, and she was better than you. And I've been wanting to tell you the truth for a while but I was fucking using you ok? I never loved you..I only used you for sex and money." I said as believable as possible.
Before anything else was said I felt a punch in my nose. I held my nose in pain.
"I HATE YOU MARY AND I HOPE YOU FUCKING DIE AND GO TO FUCKING HELL, MAYBE YOU SHOULD CUT DEEP AND MAKE EVERYONE HAPPY!" Demi screamed. Fuck the last part really hit me. When I looked up at her I could tell she regretted it immediately but she kept a serious mask on and walked away. I swallowed the lump in my throat. I just lost her forever and maybe she's right maybe it's best I did die.
Before I could think any longer I got a text again.
"Good job, now here's Max, me on the other hand is going to fix Demi because of the damage you made her feel;)"
Before I could text back max came running into the room hugging me tight.
"MOMMY MOMMY A BAD GUY TAKE ME!" Max said crying. I looked outside the room. Nothing.
"Max who was it?"
"I don't know but he had brown hair and blue eyes and he said to call him bones."
Bones...bones..why does it sound familiar?
.........Fuck.
