Chapter One

"Marlee, wake up honey! you have school" After hearing Mom's voice, I shut my eyes as close as possible and hugged my pillow tight thinking everything would vanished if only I concentrated hard. I only have a few more hours to prepare because later I'd be facing my worst nightmare; highschool.

"Marlee cut it out, I know you're awake" Mom said. But still, I made no move to blow up my cover. I felt her as she sat on the edge of my bed.

She sighed.

I took her sigh as a good sign and felt myself releasing the breath I am holding.

Thank heavens she's leaving me alone.

"You leave me no choice" she mumbled. I scrunch up my face having no idea what she's talking about until I felt something slimy on my face and a couple of barks ringing my eardrums.

What the hell! This is even worse than my alarm clock!

I bolt up straight right away. And made a disgusted noise.

"Mom!!! what the hell does spike doing in my room!!" I shouted. Spikey and I are bestfriends for as long as I can remember. But as far as possible I tried to keep him away from my room.

He tends to enjoy wrecking things.

After sending him out of my room. I proceed to prepare for school. I can't really let spike's saliva all over my face now, can I? After I showered, I paused to take a good look in the mirror.

Last night I haven't got enough sleep because I can't wait to see the look on his face when he sees me.

I had to re-model my whole closet during our vacation. So this better be worth it.

After years of searching I finally found what I wanted to wear.

Jeez, I never thought the day would come and I will be wearing these.

I wore a skin tight white tank top under a leather jacket, black skinny jeans and a pair of high heeled boots.

I have a confident smile plastered on my face as stare at my reflection. Somehow, It feels good to look good.

Now that I'm fully clothed, I went to put on a minimal amount of make up. Though I snuck in some red lipstick for the later. I don't want my parents thinking I've decided to rebel against them.

I let my hair fall the way it is because it doesn't need some major fixing, just a few combs from here and there, grabbed my school bag and went to get my RayBan sunglasses.

I skidded downstairs noticing how my parents checked my outfit.

"Where's the party?"  Dad joked.

I rolled eyes but smiled.

Mom decided to join in "I like your boots." she gave me a wink.

"Yeah right, and soon boys will be parading our house trying to steal our daugthers heart." He said sarcatically. The jealous one as ever.

I ran up to them and hugged them both. This is why I love my family."I will always be your little angel and nothing in this world can change that." I kissed them both.

As we said our goodbyes Mom told me that she and I will be having a little shopping trip after school. I guess she's just glad I've decided to finally become a girl.

When I was outside the house that's when my nerves take in. I braced myself for everyone's reaction.

You see I'm not really what you can consider as people's favorite. I had no friends other than Sam because as crazy as I was, I once believed I don't need other people when I have him. And that's how I end up having no one. There's also the fact that I always find myself in an awkward situation. I just can't socialize with people.

And after what Sam had done. I don't think I can let myself trust other people anymore.

If in the end they'll just end up leaving me.

Whatever happens today I'm willing to face it and I'm not backing out, especially not now.

I put on my sunglasses and added one final touch: My red lipstick.

Let the games begin.
