Chapter Eleven
Sam yanked the bike into a stop in the school's parking lot. I couldn't move; My arms still wrapped tightly on his waist and my legs as close as possible to his.
Let me tell you this, he sure do loves speed.
Seeing I still don't have it in me to move, he slowly peeled my arms away, which jerked me back to life. I slid off the bike as careful as possible feeling my legs all wobbly and my hands shaky as I fumbled with my headgear.
"Oh come on, Don't tell me you didn't enjoy that."
"I hated every second of it."
"Didn't you love the sheer of speed of it?"
"Not a chance."
"Even cuddling up with me?" He suggested smirking.
"That was the scariest thing I've ever done in my life! I don't care how hot you are. I hated it and that was the last time I'm riding that ." I say exasperated.
"You think I'm hot?" His smirk grew wider and I felt my cheeks warm.
"It's not like you don't know you are."
"True. but hearing you admit it sounds much better."
"You're such a jerk. I can't believe I let myself ride that thing with you."
"But I'm a hot jerk right?" He teased, obviously hadn't get over the fact I called him hot.
"Shut up." with that I walked off, noticing we had caught everyone's attention.
'of course, Sam Michaels with a girl on his bike to school' Big news.
I heard him catching up on me.
"Hey!" He said as he come closer, and whispered only I could hear; "We're pretending remember? You agreed into it and I won't accept no for an answer."
"Is she here? where?" I said looking around.
"I'll tell you later who she is." He replied then took my hand and put it on his.
thud. thud. thud.
My heart started somersaulting, which I found it does recently whenever I'm with him.
I can't believe, I'm still having those feelings again. I better start with my plan, because the first one to fall loses. And I make sure, That's not me.
We entered the school premises just in time for the first bell.
___
Morning classes took painfully slow so as soon as the bell rings for lunch I almost shout for joy and sprint to my locker in a record time but then when I thought I found my solace Christine approached me with a big grin on her face. I've been seriously avoiding her because of all the questions she was about to fire at me.
"Hey!"
"Uhmmm. what's with the creepy smile? You're scaring me."
"Hello to you too!"
"Spill it."
"The last I checked I'm not the one who is supposed to spill anything. I'm not the one who went to school with Sam Michaels, I'm not the one who--"
"Words really travel around here fast." I mumbled.
"Well...." She probed, waiting for me to start the story.
The last thing she needed to know is that I'm staying at Sam's house. besides it's not like I'm staying there for the rest of my lives. So I just told her the jerk owed me a ride to school since he forgot to pay for what he ordered to the diner, where I'm working.
"So I decided that he should give me a ride to school that's all."
"Oh. that's all? you didn't do the 'nasty'? I really thought you guys slept together last night which explains the going-to-school-together-incident." She explained. "Besides we caught you guys..."
"God don't say such things Christine. Me and him?! I would rather bang a corpse than to sleep with him!" I defended. "Besides who would have known what kind of disease that guy has for the number of girls he had slept with." I scrunch my nose in disgust.
'though the sleeping-together thing is basically half true. I mean the idiot crept up to my room for god knows what time last night.'
"I can't believe you can say such things to your boyfriend Marlee, I mean you have to accept his flaws and all, to have a lasting relationship."
"Seriously which side are you on?" I teased.
"Poor Sam. tsk tsk." She sympathized although I can see a small smile tugging at her lips. "Seriously though, are you together or what?"
"Where the hell did you get-"
"Hey Babe!" Sam was instantly on my side and surprised me by kissing my cheeks, his arms lazily hanging on my shoulders. For a moment it almost slip my mind that we're pretending. I'm really close to kicking him where the sun wasn't shining.
"Oops I better go, I don't want to interrupt a private moment." Christine winked. "I'll leave you guys now, besides Drake must be waiting for me somewhere."
"Yeah right! ditch me my so-called bestfriend." I playfully shoved her away.
And off she go.
"Will you stop doing that?!" I hissed.
"Doing what?? This." He leaned in again closing to my other cheek.
"I'm not kidding." I said seriously, pushing his arm away. My heart doing that somersaulting thing again. which pisses me off more.
"Perverted jerk." I muttered.
"You know you can't resist me Marlee."
"Whatever helps you sleep at night Sammy"

"About the girl." He spoke after moments of silence. We we're now heading to the cafeteria.
"Huh." I replied absent-mindedly. I hadn't notice that he was wearing a v-neck til now, which I must say made him look like a model fresh from the runway. The thing about v-necks are that those are my weakness like Superman had kryptonite and Achilles has his heel.
He is now looking at me, like he has to say something important. like how come he is wearing a v-neck right this instance or what made him decide to wear a v-neck for today.
He cleared his throat. Which snap me away from my V-neck thoughts.
Ah those eyes again. how come they are so blue, it's like I'm getting close to being lost by them.
"The girl I'm trying to avoid. The reason for this sick game I had to force in you." He said the last part sarcastically.
"Oh. What about her?"
"Her name is Leigh Walters."
