Dear friend,
I have a Trapper Keeper now and it’s very nice way to keep my school things organized. It’s very useful for my advanced English class. I’ve never had anything like this before; my step mum never let me have one. But this time she let me pick one out. It has cute little kitties on it. When I got to class today I opened my new Trapper Keeper, maybe I was a little too excited to use it. I took a pencil out of the plastic pouch and wrote the date a piece of paper. Ashlie sits next to me, she smiled at me and at first it made me feel happy until she started talking.
“Nice Trapper Keeper, faggot.”
Everyone around me laughed, I could feel my face turning red. I don’t like my Trapper Keeper all that much anymore.
When the teacher Mr. Anderson walked in everyone stopped laughing.
“Good morning class, This semester, we're going to be learning Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird. Genius book. Now, who wants to get out of the first pop quiz?”
Everyone in the class raised their hand but me. Mr. Anderson asked the class a question, if anyone got it right, no pop quiz. I wrote the answer down on my paper. No one knew the answer but Mr. Anderson was staring at me. I think he could see that I wrote down the answer and wanted me to raise my hand. But I never did and eventually he told the class the answer. I got it right and smiled. I’m going to like this class. After class Mr. Anderson asked me why I didn’t raise my hand and said I should participate.
I don't have a lot of time because of the book he assigned us to read, and I like to read books twice. The book is To Kill a Mockingbird. If you haven't read it, I think you should because it is very interesting. The teacher has assigned us a few chapters at a time, but I do not like to read books like that. I am halfway through the first time.
Love always,
Daniel
