At the beginning of first period, I was sitting in my seat, and the teacher announced we had a student moving classes. I raised my hand, excitedly, because I LOVE meeting new people.
"Yes, Emma?" Ms. Brooks asked. I smiled politely, and said,
"Who's the student? If I may ask." Ms. Brooks smiled, and said,
"You may, and also, the student is Ricky Garcia." My smile quickly faded to a look of worry.
"Um, Ms. Brooks? Are you sure that's right? Ricky's first period class is Calculus..." Ms. Brooks looked at me, smiled, and replied,
"Yes, Emma. I'm sure. Mr. Sanders told me this morning." 'SHIIT!' I yelled to myself in my head. 'Why is Ricky moving his calculus class to advanced world history? Also known as, MY first period?!' I couldn't help wondering to myself. About 10 minutes later, Ricky walks into the classroom.
"Alright, everyone. Please look to the front of the room." Ms. Brooks said. Everyone lifted their heads up, and looked at Ricky. Ms. Brooks smiled, and said,
"Welcome to Advanced World History, Ricky. In order for you to be officially in my class, we have to ask you a historical question, which is ALWAYS given by Miss. Emma Collins. Emma?" I stood up, and walked to Ricky, and asked him a question about the French Revolution.
"Ricky. Did Marie Antoinette ACTUALLY say 'let them eat cake', or is it a myth? How do you know?" 'Nice one, Emma! He'll NEVER get this answer.' I thought t myself. I was soon standing corrected, as Ricky smiled, and said,
"Oh, that's easy! She never said it. It's therefore, a myth. I know this, because there's no evidence, that she even spoke the words. During the French Revolution, the people were starving, and they needed to blame someone, so, they blamed their queen. King Louie the 16th, wanted NO part of it, so, he let Queen Marie Antoinette take the fall. However, they both ended up getting executed at the guillotine." I stood there with my mouth hanging open, and Ricky smiling like crazy. 'Shit. I just got served by Ricky Garcia.'
