Nova was rarely late for anything, she was usually good at arriving everywhere on time. But she had woken up late and Jake had been sleeping at Brooke's, so she had no ride and no one to call since everyone was in school. So she changed into a pair of leggings and a sweater Audrey had forgot in her room once befre she swept up her hair in a ponytail.
Nova had to run to school, which wasn't the best start of a day, but she only came thirty minutes late to her psychology class. She ran up the stairs and opened the door to the classroom, shouting,
"I'm here, I'm queer!" Nova didn't even realize what she had said as she bent over a little and placed her hands on her thighs as she tried to catch her breath. "Give me a minute."
She stood up straight when she heard someone slow clapping - that someone turned out to be Noah - and the class started laughing, some of them joining Noah in the clapping. Audrey looked at her wide eyes and her mouth slightly open, and that was when Nova realized what she had said.
Well, it is true, she thought and shrugged before sitting down on her seat between Emma and Audrey.
