THIRTY-SEVEN

Audrey had tried to distract the twins for nearly three hours, but she had forgotten how hyper both of them became after eating ice cream and drinking energy drinks. She felt like a mom looking after two five-year-olds.

"Jake, no, I don't think that's a good idea," she had shouted after him when he said that he was going to text a girl and tell her that he liked her. Audrey, of course, thought that he meant Brooke. "You just broke up, you obviously had your reasons for that so don't text her."

"He's not talking about Brooke, he's talking about that girl who's always around Stavo on her phone," Nova said and rolled her eyes with a smile. The girls' fingers were intertwined as they walked back to the Fitzgerald household. "She's nice, I like her. I don't really remember her name though, we don't talk much."

"She's Stavo's sister, her name is Gwendolyn and she hates me but I will get her to like me," Jake said and shrugged. "But fine, I won't text her."

"Good," Audrey said and nodded slowly. They walked into the house just a few minutes later, both of the twins nearly jumping out of their own skin when people jumped up and yelled 'surprise.'

"Is it our birthday already?" Nova asked in confusion as Brooke put a birthday hat on her head. "I thought it was in like, two months."

"Well, I wouldn't be here right now if it was in two months," Sophie said and snorted. She was standing behind Brooke. "Since it's your birthday today, I'm going to wait until tomorrow to torture you about Novey. Also, I used most of my money to fly out here so you're not getting a birthdat present. Neither are you, Jake. My face is enough of a birthday present."

Brooke nodded in agreement. "Her face is great. Now hug, I need some Nophie pics."

"Does everything have a shipname?" Audrey asked in confusion.
