Chapter 4

Selene's pov.

Ciel smile faids as he reads the letter that Sebastian had brought in. i sigh a little before shaking my head. "Abigale would you mind helping me with my case?" Ciel asks and i shake my head once again thinking this could go bad. "i um... i guess i could." Abigale says before she looks up at me and i give a small nod telling her things would be alright. "what kind of case is it Ciel?" i ask and he smiles up at me a smile that i wasn't to sure if i really liked or not. "we are going to the cuircuse. some children have gone missing in almost every town that this cuircues has been in." Ciel says and i sigh a little. "what's a cuircuse?" Abby asks and i sigh once again before patting the top of her head. "it's a place of entertanment. you will hopefully get to see what's it's like." i say and she smiles up at me. "as long as you take me then it should be fine." Abby says before she starts to eat again. lately the smell of food or just about anything that wasn't Sebastain or Abigale made me feel ill to the point where i was going to be sick. perhaps it was time to go see Undertaker but i heard from Ciel and Sebastian that he had a new companinon that was staying with him. i was shocked that they were even getting along after what happened all those years ago. i guess they got over it to help him or they decied the saying keep your friends close and your enimys closer was the case here.

"Selene i only got two tickets for the show. i was going to go wih Sebastian as a pre investigation before having you two help me." Ciel says and i nod my head a little before looking at Max who had a worried look on his face. "mother i don't think it would be wise for you to help with this." Max says and he looks a little nerves now because Sebastian was looking at him. "perhaps Max is right. i mean what could we do to help out? i don't want you to get hurt doing something like this." Abby says and i shake my head a little. "if that is your order young mistress then i will follow it." i say as i smooth out my skirt of my dress. i didn't like that my son was telling me what to do even thow i was his mother and should be telling him what to do still, it was bad enough that i had to follow the orders of a little girl who i was supossed to kill. Abby stands quickly and pulls me from the room making me sigh softly as i walked behind her. i knew that Max was following us because i could smell him but i didn't say a word knowing he wasn't going to do anything but yell.

"Selene what are you thinking?" Abby screams the moment we enter her room. she looked mad and i let her yell, scream and slap at me all as tears run down her face. "are you done now young miss?" i ask as she falls to the ground, her hands over her face as she sobs. "why are you acting so cold to me? your my angle, my only hope of getting what i want before i die. i thought you were better than that man." she screams and i pick her up quickly before throwing her lightly onto the bed and pinning her down. normaly i would never act this way but i had other thing on my mine. "listen well child, i am not acting cold to you to hurt you. i'm acting this way because i want to protect you, silly child. now it's time to stop all your crying and act your age." i say before letting her up and cleaning her face. she sniffs a few times before nodding her head slowly and i sigh softly ashamed of how i had just acted. "Abby i'm sorry, did i hurt you?" i say as i look at the ground as tears start to form. i hated how i had scared her like this and for what, a silly order that really ment nothing to me. she shakes her head no and i turn to walk away. i needed to be away from her right now or i would just end up taking her soul the contract be forgoten. "Selene where are you going?" she asks in a shaky tone and i look over my shoulder at her. "to speack with my husband. if you'll excuse me." i say and rush from the room and run down to where Sebastian was working.

he looks up at me a small frown forming but he doesn't say a word as he pulls me into a hug. i sob into his chest until i was hyperventelating and couldn't breath let alone stand. Sebastian picks me up and carrys me to our room where he lays me on our bed. he looks into my eyes as he sweps my hair out of my face. "i can't do this. i can't." i gasp out and he sighs before kissing my check. "hush love and take a deep breath for me." he says and i listen to him talk, making me relax as he talks. he must have known why i was so upset and he rubs my back a little. once i was calm he pulls away to look me in the eyes. "is this about the orders you were given?" he asks and i scowl at him a little. "it was not her order and if our son hadn't said anything then this wouldn't be a problem." i hiss and Sebastian smiles a little before kissing me to stop my yelling.

Sebastian's pov.

once Selene was calm she feel asleep. she had been pale the last few days and was only getting worst as the days go on. i leave our room and head out to check on how things were going in the manor. i smile when i see that work was getting done and stop outside lady Abigales room. i could hear light sobs and knock on the door before walking into her room. there was the sound of something being knocked over and then the door opens slowly so i could see the frightened girl before me. "what happened my lady?" i ask and she sniffs a few times before letting me into the room. "Selene was so mean and she never came back to let me tell her i'm sorry." she crys and i give a small sigh. "Selene is asleep. i will wake her so you two can talk if that is what you wish." i say and she sighs before looking around behind me. "is she getting better? is Selene going to die?" Abby asks and i take a deep calming breath not sure how to tell this girl that she was killing my wife by not letting her do her job. "she will get better soon but i don't know if she is dying. i belive that this case my master has is most fortunate, Selene can work on helping you with your deal. please relax for the rest of the day and i will retreve you for dinner." i say before turning on my heel and walking away from this girl.

there were many things that could happen soon and the longer this contract went on the worst my wife got. i had to do something soon to help her finish this contract sooner, i could see that Selene was falling apart. it didn't take me long to fix dinner perpetrations finished before heading to Ciel's study to find him looking over some paper work for his company that i was running now. "is Selene alright? i could hear that fight all the way down here." he says without looking up at me. i give a small sigh before walking closer to his desk. "Selene is dying do you really think she is alright? that girl is killing her slowly. i do not wish to resort to this but i will be taking Selene away for a night or two before we leave on your case so long as you are alright with it young master." i say before bowing to him. he pauses to look up at me worry and curiosity in his eyes.

"just what will you do?" he asks and i smirk at him. "take care of my wife young master. i can not give you all the details right this moment." i say. he nods before waving me off and i bow quickly before leaving the room. i would leave with her tonight after dinner to insure she was going to live until the end of this contract. once i was done cooking i gather everyone for dinner which was quiet without Selene there to lighten everyone's mood. "Max once dinner is done please take Lady Abigail to her room and get her ready for bed. i will take care of my young master and then we will do dishes." i say to my son who was standing next to me. "yes father." Max says and once they were done eating we do as we must. it didn't take long to get Ciel ready for bed or to wake Selene. "where are we going Sebastian?" she asks as i pull her to the kitchen door. "out just relax a little my lady." i say and she nods. not much later Max walks into the kitchen and he smiles when he sees his mother. "i am taking your mother out for a day or two you are in charge of everything i would normally do." i say and his eyes go wide. "but father that's a lot of work. what if i mess up?" Max asks in a panicked tone. Selene sighs before walking over to our son and placing a hand on his shoulder the other on his face. "dear your going to try you best that is all your father and i ask for. it's alright to mess up every once in a while." she says and i give a small sigh. i would prefer it if my son was perfect like i was but i could see how calm her words had made him. "be safe mamma." Max says before kissing her check and walking her over to me. we leave and Selene asks me several times where we were headed but i couldn't tell her until we got there.
