Chapter 6

Max's pov.

Mother had gone back to normal and I start to wonder if what happened was really real. Had my mother really been sick or had it been an act? One thing I did know for sure was that mother and father were insistent on her being from a different time which I believed them. Mother spent a lot of time with Abigail who hadn't opened up to any one but mother. They left almost two weeks after I was shown those pictures and I grew to worry about my mother because once again she had never been this far from me for this long. "Father when will mother be back?" I ask my father who had a thoughtful look on his face. "I do not know." Father says before he leaves standing there in the hallway. I hated that no one was telling me what was going on here anymore.

It had now been two months since mother left with Abigail and it was the middle of the night when I woke hearing the click of heels on the floor outside my room. I stiffen a little not sure what I should really do, should I try to stop whoever it was or was it just Mer-Rin walking around now that she was done with her job. There was a soft sigh from whoever it was walking, they had paused outside my room and I see the handle of the door start to move so I close my eyes so whoever it was would think I was asleep. I hear the heels clicking as the person walks closer to me and they reach out and run their fingers throw my hair. "My sweet boy." They say and I relax the moment I recognize my mother's voice. I open my eyes and look up into her shocked ones but she just smiles at me and leans over. "I'm sorry I woke you love." She says before kissing the top of my head. "I missed you mother." I mumble as she runs her fingers throw my hair once again making me feel sleepy.

"Don't disapper like this again. I was scared." I whisper and she gives a small sigh then I feel the bed dip before mother was laying next to me and she pulls me into a hug. "I'll try not to Max. Now go back to sleep." Mother says and I fall asleep happy and relived to have my mother back with us. When I get up the next morning I notice something was asleep next to me. I sit up quickly in a panic before my eyes land on my mother who was peaceful asleep next to me. I relax and give a small sigh before laying back down carefully so as not to wake her up. Mother gives a small whimper before she hugs herself tightly so I gently shake her to wake her up. She sits up gasping for breath and my door was kicked open only for my panicked looking father to be standing there. "Selene." He says in a soft tone and relaxes before he walks over to both of us and pulling us into a tight hug. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you Sebastian." Mother says as she pulls herself closer to his body. "Max get ready for the day." Father says as he looks over at me and lets me go before he picks up mother who giggles a little. I nod and do as he asked me to.

I change before heading to the dinning room where I see my uncle, father and mother all sitting there at the table talking in low tones. "Where is Abigale?" I ask and they pause to look up at me. "Abigale is gone. She died." Mother says and she looked like she was pained by the thought. I knew that she had been closed to her. I walk over to her before giving her a hug. "Max dear I'm alright but you should sit." Mother says as she pats my arm and I give her a questioning look not really sure what this was all about. "Mother, is everything alright?" I ask and she gives a small sigh. "Max..... your mother and I were talking. We think we may have found something interesting." Father starts before he looks over at my mother who had a small shy smile on her lips. I could also see the excitement in her eyes at whatever it was that they had found. "What did you find?" I ask and they glance over at uncle Ciel before looking back at me. "We found a way to where your mother comes from. Your mother and I have made the decision to go and see her family and it's your choice in if you will come with us or not."Father says and the happy look in mother's eyes fades a little as if the thought of me not coming with them upset her. "I want to come. I want to meet my grandparents." I say and mother gives a relived sigh. "I need to change then we can go. Max there is some cloths that you, your father and Ciel need to change into before we go." Mother says and I nod before we all head up to our rooms. I change into what mother left out for me before walking down to where they were waiting. I listen to father and mother talking as they spread out some powder before a bright light shows up. "Let's go." Mother says and I grab one of her hands, father had the other and uncle Ciel grabs my other free hand before we walked throw the bright light.
