Chapter 5

Sebastian's pov.

it didn't take long to get to where i was taking my wife. Selene was confused as to what was going on and held tightly to my arm as we walked throw the demon town i had brought her to. this was the first time in centuries that i had been to one and i smirk a little as lower demons bow as i walk past. many of the females who believed they had a chance with me sent me flirtatious smiles before hissing at Selene as we walked past. "Sebastian what are we doing here?" Selene asks as she clings tighter to me as a male bee demon reaches out to her. i growl a little before pulling her closer to my body in a protective manor wording off any other male attempts at my wife. "making you better. it should not take us long here and then we will spend the day in my house." i say as i look into her fear filled eyes.

"a day alone? it will be just the two of us alone?" she asks the fear leaving her eyes as she looks me over and i nod my head relived that i could calm her nerves. i pull her to a stop in front of a small shop before giving a smile when i see the same old man running it. "come along now my lady and keep close to me and silent unless i tell you otherwise." i say as we walk to the door. i pause with my hand on the handle as i watch her nod her head. we walk into the shop and the old man looks up at us. "well if it isn't the oldest crow demon known to our kind. what can i do for you?" the old man asks and i smirk at him. "you should remember our deal snake demon. i left you a large number of souls once and now i am in need so a few of them." i say as i pull Selene closer to me. she was doing well in staying silent as i worked. he looks over at Selene then to myself. he looks over my wife before looking back up at me. "you sure about that with this little bird around?" he asks and i nod my head.

he sighs before getting up and walking into the back of his store before we hear a few bangs until he walks back with a large box in his hands. "here it is. don't know which ones you want." he says before setting it on the counter in front of me. i pull out a key that matches the lock on the box. Selene gives me a confused look as she watches me. i open the box only for me to see odds and ends before finally pulling out two things, one being a old silver necklace with a emerald in the middle of it, the other being a signet ring from a old king that i had killed not long after becoming a demon. i place both items in my pocket before locking up the box again and hiding the key away where it had been before. "i'll be taking my leave now. i will be back later for more of this." i say and the old man chuckles before picking up the box. "if you say so crow just remember the longer it stays here the more you have to pay." he says before giving another chuckle. i nod as i watch him walks to the back of the shop before turning to Selene who was still confused. i grab her arm before pulling her behind me out of the shop and down several streets until we stop in front of an old castle like house.

"Sebastian where are we?" Selene asks as she hold on to me. many of the demons around here were looking her over with scowls mostly because she was so new in the demon world but i wasn't. "master crow what is that doing with you?" a young woman asks and i look over to see the butterfly demon family that lived next door to me looking us over. i knew they had a daughter not long before i took my contract with Ciel. "my wife. if you will excuse us." i say before pulling Selene into my house smirking a little at the shocked look on the young girls face. "who were they?" Selene asks and i chuckle at the look of jealous that crosses it. i pull her close and kiss her more than happy to see her anger, something that she rarely showed me. "butterfly demons. i've always hated them." i mumble with my lips brushing against hers. she blushes a little before nodding her head and i pull back a little. "now then time for you to eat." i say as i pull out the two things i got. "eat?" she asks confusion written all over her face. "yes eat now close your eyes and open your mouth." i order and she does as i ask.

Max's pov.

mother and father had been gone all day making me wonder where they had gone. Abigail wasn't hard to take care of all day but uncle Ciel was a diffident story. "Max!" he yells and i stumble as i run up to his study. i never knew how hard father's job was until now and from the stories mother used to tell me it was ten times worst before i was born. "is there something you need?" i ask once in his office and he looks up at me. "is your father back yet? i really need to start my case and he is holding me up." he says and i give a small sigh. i have no idea where my father took my mother or when they would be back. "not yet i think father said he would be back later tonight." i say and uncle Ciel sighs before nodding his head. "get me some tea." he finally says and i bow before heading down to the kitchen to do as he asks. i just hoped that my father and mother were alright because i had never had them both gone like this before so i wasn't sure of how to act. by the time dinner rolled around my parents still weren't back and i was starting to worry about them, father never lied about when he would be back so this was all starting to feel a little more worried then i had earlier that day. i had just finished serving dinner and was cleaning when the door in the kitchen opens. i look over worried until i see my mother smiling happily and father who had his arm wrapped around her waist. "Max how was your day?" mother asks me as she looks me over and i give a small sigh. "it was fine mother." i say knowing it was rude not to answer her or father would get mad at me for not showing good manners. father nods his head before he helps me with the last of the cleaning as mother walks up to check on her master a small frown on her face but she did not say anything to me about it.
