"So let me get this straight, there is a new kid named Max, who is an Aspen turned a Height with the Curse of Ezra, and you sleep next to him?" The answer was yes. For being a height, Sophia knows her stuff. I told her about Max's scar, and she knew the curse.

Ultimately, Cassie told me he would most likely toy with my emotions, and lure me in, make me trust him. My only fear was that he would hurt Elita.

I was getting tired, and walked back to my room, barley keeping my eyes open. I slowly stripped down to my boxers, and grabbed my laptop. I turned it on, and started watching superwoman videos. At 12:37, Max stumbled into the room, obviously drunk. I just ignored him until he went to bed. I sighed, and after 3:51 in the morning, I turned of my MacBook and drifted to sleep.

Of course I dreamt of Elita. But I had never had a dream like this. You see it was about Elita. Yet she wasn't there. My mother was. She cradled my chin. "Callan." A tear was forming in her eye. "You are very powerful. I hope you know that. You have the power to protect a civilization. But you also have the power to destroy one. You must choose. Elita, or the Aspens." I nodded in response. " Good. You can move on. Do it for me. And with that, her ghostly form was whisped away.

I awoke with a start. It's funny how the shortest dreams can take up a night. I opened a window and got dressed. Max began to wake up. When I saw his eyes open, I said to him " Um, Max. You where drunk. You shouldn't get up. It's Saturday anyway. Just try not to get drunk again."

In a voice that sounded more like a continuous moan, he told me " Callan, there is something I need to tell you"
