As we climbed into bed, I kissed Elita as she put he hand over her stomach. Tonight was the big night. Everything was packed and in the car, and we had a full tank of gas. Elita was buzzing with excitement, and refused to go to bed. Eventually, I had to give her some Tylenol mixed with one or two of Aspens ingredients o make her zone out. I tossed the covers over myself, and glanced at the time. 11:33 am, Christmas Eve.

I woke up to the sounds of screams. "Callan! the baby's coming! Elita yelled. I glanced at the clock. Exactly midnight. I had Been asleep 27 minutes. I scooped her up and ran to the car.

as we sat in the car, I was very nerveous. What if they weren't Aspens? Well, that couldn't happen, because were both Aspens. Right?

Wenmade it to the hospital just in time. as soon as we reached the room, I could see a small lump coming out of Elita.

After two hours, and several tears, and screams, we were aloud to hold our children. "Elita, are you ready to check the marks?" I asked her. she nodded. I pulled back the yellow blanket my child was wrapped in. But I found nothing. "Elita." was all I could say.

"I know! their so pretty! I want to name this one Astrid." she said.

"Okay. That's a pretty name, but right now we have a situation!" I said, before she realized the problem.

"Check the other side! mine is on the left, yours is on the right!" she half-screamed. I pulled back the other side of the blanket

Nothing.

Elita had already seen. "well, we can't just leave it." Elita said, tears forming in her eyes.

"But, if we keep her, we'll be a disgrace. I can't do it Elita. I just can't." I said, running my hands through my hair.

"Elita. We have to leave the baby here. I'll go to the adoption center and find us an Aspen daughter."

"Well, we atleast have to name her." Elita said, tears rolling down her checks.

"Elita. You get to choose." I said, holding her hand.

"Brooklyn." she said, before bringing her hands to her eyes to sob. I took the baby, with her chesnut brown hair, with me. And I walked out the door to the Adoption center.
