"Valerie you know I didn't do anything!" He started to yell and walked over and pulled the sheets off of me. "She tried to kiss me but I didn't let her you have to believe me please." "I do believe you." I said in a calm voice. He looked surprised when I said that. "You do?" He said. "Yeah, I shouldn't have even invited her... I mean.. I thought she was my friend, and I even asked her if she liked you and she said no." I said turning over facing the other way from him. "Well you don't have to deal with her anymore." Benny said smiling. He layed down by me and started playing with my hair. "Yeah, but she was my only friend that was a girl." I said. He giggled a little. "That's okay, you don't need her, you've got the team and me." He kissed my forehead and we layed there for a while before going back out to the party. "There y'all are!" Yeah-yeah said. He could tell I was upset and he grabbed Benny's arm and walked into the living room to talk. I go to the kitchen and pour a drink and sit down at the table to try to hear what they were saying. I wasn't able to hear what they were said but Benny went to the restroom right after and yeah-yeah came into the kitchen. "Hey, what were y'all talking about?" I was too curious and had to ask. "Well..." He looked over at the bathroom to see if Benny was still in there. "I just thought that he might have hurt you and I just wanted to make sure he didn't." He said sitting down next to me. "You're my best friend and I was just looking after you." He said looking down. "Thanks, that means a lot." I said, I started to feel better after that and when Benny got out of the bathroom yeah-yeah got up to leave. "Well bye guys." He said. "Bye, I'll see you in a little." Benny said. After the party we were going to have a camp out in our treehouse. After everyone left it was just Benny who stayed to help clean up. We got done an hour later and started to grab blankets to take to the camp out. We had to jog over there cause we were late. "It's about time." Ham said. "Hey, we had to clean up." Benny said and just shook his head. We layed our blankets down and just talk for a few hours. Everyone was getting tired and falling asleep and the only ones that were up was ham, yeah-yeah, and Benny and I and we were just talking quietly to each other for a while. "Well It's late and I'm tired, I'm going to sleep." Ham said. "Yeah yeah me too." Yeah-yeah said and pulled his blanket over him to go to sleep. It was just me and Benny so we decided to go to sleep. We both slept on our sides by each other and fell asleep.
June 7th
The next morning I woke up to someone yelling and I sit up. "Oh no!" I look out and see squints down there and a few other guys riding bikes. They all wake up right after me and look out too and start heading down. "Stay here." Benny said, but I didn't listen and just headed down with them. "Yeah it's easy when you play with a bunch of rejects and a fat kid Rodriguez." "Shut your mouth Phillips!" Benny said in a mad voice. "Who's the girl?" Phillips looked over at me and said. I was standing right by Benny and turn to him. "That's my girlfriend." "Why are you hanging with them? You should be hanging with us." Phillips said. "Just don't answer." Benny said and put his arm around my shoulder and started to walk away. "Your just gonna leave like that without saying anything?" Phillips said to me, but I didn't say anything back and started walking back with Benny back to the treehouse while the others were still talking to them. "Who were they?" I asked. "There just another team." He said. We went back up to the treehouse and I could tell he was upset. "If he tries to talk to you just don't say anything, he's trouble." He said to me. " I won't" I smile at him. They all come back up after a few minutes. "We play them tomorrow at noon" ham said. Benny just nodded his head.
