*Sydney’s PoV*
I was walking up the sidewalk to school; my house is less than a mile away so Ethan, Darcy and I would walk there, at least until it was snowing, then Ethan would drive us.
I brushed a strand of hair behind my ear as I looked up at Darcy and Ethan, who were whispering about something. I rolled my eyes. She had just broke up with Jacob; how could she be back in the flirting scene?
Just then, I felt two arms wrap around my waist and pull me to themselves. I knew that touch anywhere. I looked up, and met the dark eyes of my boyfriend, Zack. Zack and I had been dating for 6 months; we didn‘t know how my parents would react if they knew I was dating a bad boy, so we kept it a secret.
“Hey Syd…” he purred, kissing down my neck. I giggled, and pulled out of his arms, “Hello Zack.” I grabbed his collar and kissed him. It was amazing, like every other time his lips hit mine. With much will-power, I pulled away, “Come on. I don‘t want to be late for class.” Zack smiled, and followed me inside.

Ethan and I walked into school, while Sydney got lost somewhere. I never know where the heck that girl goes to.
“So, how are you today?” Ethan whispered, and I smiled, “Good; I haven’t cut since that day you stopped me. Thanks again.” “No problem, Darce.” he replied, “I’d help anyone who was in that situation. No one should believe they are alone in this world.” I smiled, and looked down the hall, before Ethan continued, “If you don’t mind me asking, what are the 12 scars for?” I sighed, “The 12 things people call me; Fat, Fake, Man-eater, Ugly, Superficial, Alone… use your imagination for the other 6...”
Ethan wrapped his arm around my waist, “You know, those aren’t true right? You’re beautiful, real, and not alone… You’re a flirt, but you don’t mean any harm. You are Darcy Styles, and that’s the person your family, blood or not, love.” I smiled, “Thank you Ethan Tomlinson.” “No problem…” he said, sliding his hand off my waist, “Come on. Let’s go to class.”
After a long day at school, we finally were reunited with Sydney. “Hey, where have you been?” I asked, her and she shrugged “School. Anyway, can we check on Heather today?” I shrugged, “Sure. Ethan want to come?” He nodded, “Yeah, I need to see if she’ll be well enough to head to band practice on Saturday.” “She’s in your boy band?” Sydney asked, and he nodded, “Yeah; Ryan suggested that we needed a different sound, because we’re all around the same range. Heather’s a Soprano so he thought she would be a good asset to the band. Plus, she’s a song writer.” I nodded; I was glad Heather had finally been able to be a part of something. She always seemed to isolate herself from the family, except Ryan.
Sydney, on the other hand, seemed jealous. “Was anyone else suggested?” she said. Ethan shook his head, “Not really. Ryan suggested her. I agreed, and Zack would have rather kept it a strictly male band.” “Hmmm…” she hummed, “I’ll meet you at home.” She started running down the road, and I turned to Ethan, who shrugged.
