"So, I'll pick you up around 6?" Nate says to me while I put away my books in my locker.
"Yeah, see you later." I nod, before Nate walks down the hall and out the door. As if on cue, Lily walks out of her class, with the biggest grin on her face.
"Ready for your FIRST DATE??" Lily yells once she approaches me.
"Shhh Lil! You're so loud, someone might hear you." I say, cautiously looking around in case someone overhears. The last thing I want is someone telling Audrey and Brianna what's going on in my life, and have them ruin it.
Lily calms down a little bit, "I'm sorry. I'm just really excited for you."
"Yeah, maybe a little more excited than me," I laugh.
"What? Aren't you excited?"
"I am, it's just I'm more nervous than excited at this point. What if I do something embarrassing? Or what if I fart? And oh, I don't know Lily, what if my mom finds out?"
"You'll be fine, your mom thinks you're sleeping over and everything is gonna be fine."
"I hope so," I whisper.

"So I was thinking the maroon dress with the lace sleeves but he said something about water and fish so that's probably not a good idea." I explain from my bed to Lily whos standing in front of my closet.
"Hmm.. How about these jeans we were talking about at lunch? Try this with a nice shirt." She says, tossing me the pair of jeans.
"Yeah I guess, but what abou-"
"Dani? Are you home?" My mom calls from downstairs.
"Fuck," I mumble. "Why is she home?"
"I don't know, you said she works overtime on fridays!"
"Yeah mom, i'm home with Lily!" I yell back.
"Hi Dani's mom!" Lily yells.
"Hi girls! I'm downstairs if you need anything." I hear her say before she closes her bedroom door.
"What are we gonna do, we can't have Nate pick you up when she's home!" Lily whispers.
"And she can't see me all dolled up if i'm 'just' going to your house to sleep over." I add.
"Put your clothes in your backpack, and we'll just have to rush your hair and makeup at my house. Tell Nate to pick you up from there."
"Why do my plans always get messed up?" I whisper.
"It's fine, things will always work out in the end!" Lily cheers.
We make our way to the front door, "Bye Mom! Im leaving to Lily's now!" I say before closing the door and locking it.
