Lydia's POV

"Um..." I stammered. "I was uh, working on this song..."

I stood over Nico's grave stupidly, just talking to the tombstone placed above his head.

" W-would you like to hear it?"

The wind around me whistled through the graybare tree.

That's what we always called the pale old tree that barely held up our tree house. It was a light grayish color, and even in spring had no leaves. Hence the name, "graybare tree".

Nico loved the house, so we thought the least we could do was bury him next to it, a five-minute walk from Carmi's.

"Well I'm not hearing a no," I grinned lightly. Checking around my surroundings, I had forgotten that it was six in the morning; Luna was getting ready for bed, and the others were still snoozing away.

"Okay," I sighed.

"When I look at his face,

I feel a jolt of disgrace.

He leaves me in awe,

an' now my insides are raw.

Who'd ever think he could do this?

But he's got,

Snake eyes,

when you look at this guy,

he puts you in trances;

you'll feel like you'll die!

Oh those,

Snake eyes!

Don't look too deep inside,

or you'll.

get.

trapped!

In a world of lies!

Why don't you just take off your mask,

what are you scared of your sob-story past?

Ooooh, snake eyes.

Ooooh, snake eyes,

snake, snake eyes..."
