Fangs and Feathers

Chapter 7

Osaku's POV

I flew in through an empty window in Surara's room. The poor girl was having a troubled sleep, so I woke her up.

"Osaku?" How did she know me?

"Er,yes?"

"I had a dream about you..."

She explained her nightmare, and I was shocked.

I had that same dream yesterday.

And my dreams are omens of the future.

I bolted for Jaito's room, waking him up, explaining there was no time.

He pulled on some jeans and an Old Navy hoodie.

"What's going on?"

"The... dream." Surara trailed off.

A look of horror washed over Jaito's face. He knew what she was talking about obviously.

"We have to get the others."

So we did. And Jaito, Surara, Luna, Darian, Carmi and I sat by a small fire afterward.

"I'm cold," Sura nuzzled against her brother.

"Well, who's fault is that?" Darian glared at Jaito.

"Look, I don't wanna be here either, but you don't see me complaining! I'm cold, Sura's cold, Hell, the whole freaking WORLD could be cold. But it's not my fault!"

Jaito had never exploded like that before. Ever.

"Whatever," Darian shrugged and put his arm around Luna.

"Uh," Luna pushed him away. "No thanks. I've had enough problems tonight."

Darian looked mad, but then he smiled insanely, in a twisted way. "So what's stopping you?"

"I can't choose," she mumbled.

"Allow me to, ah, persuade you."

In one fast motion, he pulled on the front of Jaito's hoodie, making him yelp in pain.

And two huge, feathered wings burst right through the back with a loud sssssssrip!

"Look at that!" Darian yelled triumphantly. "Look at-..."

"That...?" Murmered Carmi.

"I just thought you were... sk_skinny..." Darian mumbled. "You have wings?"

Luna's face was heartbreaking, but soon was replaced by anger.

"ANYTHING ELSE YOU WANNA SHOW ME?!" Luna cried. "Cuz silly me thought 'best friend' meant you could TRUST THE FREAKING PERSON!!

"In one week, if that, I found out you have a secret sister, and you-...

"are an angel," she finished, tears streaming down her cheeks.

"Darian you retarded little-"

"STOP!!" screamed Sura. "JUST STOP!! We're all friends, we shouldn't be fighting about stupid things. Jaito, Darian meant to humiliate you, but not expose your wings. Darian, you aren't innocent either, so shut up. Luna, the only reason you didn't know about me was my decision, I was scared."

Surara sat down quietly, and said, "We might end up in a pure terrorland, but we're all we've got. So we have to work together."

And a group hug was given, and we all fell asleep on that note.
