Title: The Deadly Dare Mysteries
Author: Malorie Blackman
Brief summary of plot: Ricky, Angela, Theo and Toby solve three deadly life threatening mysteries. Do they get away with it successfully?
Strengths: Malorie stops her chapters at very intriguing events, making the readers not want to move their eyes off the page in case they miss something.
Weaknesses: Nothing major, except for the fact in 'Computer Ghost', we don't know if they met the ghost or not.
Personal response: Was sitting on the edge of my seat all the way through!
Genre: Mystery/suspense
Action: The majority of the action happens in a variety of locations but mainly in the school.
The author, Malorie Blackman, made me suspect all the characters that I wouldn't have thought I would, especially in the last story.
Main characters: Ricky, Theo, Angela and Toby. The characters are really believable and I can sometimes put myself in their shoes as I'm about their age.
Writing style: 'The Deadly Dare Mysteries' are written in the 3rd person and it feels like you're watching it from above. I like the idea of the prologue and the emails.
Overall opinion: Very gripping!
