Those were the only three things on my mind before I met him.
. . . Music and himself were later added.
Anybody around town knew him as the upcoming Harlem-Bound rapper who mixed luxury with music, but I on the other hand could care less.
Every living soul around me spoke of him as bad news, painting an even awful picture of him. But something about him just seemed . . . different. As if there was something about him hidden deep down inside just waiting to be cracked open by someone.
But who am I to judge? When I first met him I never would have thought we would be anywhere close to where we are now.
Shit, I wouldn't have even expected to even have a simple conversation with someone like him. I listened to everyone else, and acted like an ignorant fool towards him. Then landed us into the situation we are all swimming in now.
Maybe I should have listened to everyone when they said he was trouble.
Maybe I should have stayed caught up in my studies.
Or maybe I should have believed in myself and followed my heart.
