Yesterday's memories left my heart trembling and the morning of my next work day was even more shocking. My nightmares had ceased I slept well, for once in a great long while I actually slept peacefully not a drop of sweat on my brow. A feeling I had long since forgotten. And the only image that appeared in my slumber was Kokoro's face with her beautiful blue eyes, and blond hair. I was hoping the image would just disappear after little bit so it wouldn't detriment my emotions, but the fact remained I missed her and I wasn't sure when I might see her again. And I continued to think about her the rest of the morning and on the way to work. As I grabbed my lunch and coffee, and said my farewell to Yoshimura, I continued to think about her. As I passed by the alley where we met, and even when I walked into the doors of the 20th Ward's CCG Agency, the reminiscence remained.

I saw Kazuki, and Sourin in the main lobby with their coffee waiting for me like they like to every day I work. "Hey Tatsuki over here." Kazuki yelled for me to notice, but I always do before he even calls. I walked over to where they were standing. "Hey where were you yesterday? I thought you might be sick or something." "I told you before Kazuki I work here half the week, and  I work at the real estate agency between the days I work here." "Huh!" Said Kazuki confused at my response. "I also told you this yesterday Kazuki you're so simple minded." Said Sourin quite irritated. "Oh curse my memory problem." Said Kazuki putting his hand in his face. "It's alright it's kno big deal,  hm." I chuckled. They both looked at me with shock. "Whoa dude! That's the first time I think I've actually seen you happy in the morning." "Yeah you're usually more rough at this time of the day." They both commented. "Let's just say I had a better sleep than other days." "Huh, oh that reminds me can you talk to my cousin she's looking for a nice house with an affordable price?" Sourin asked awkwardly showing me a photo of a brown haired woman with a phone number on it. "Sure I'll see what I can do." I answered. "Thanks, I mean whatever." He corrected himself with that amusing angry tone of his. "Aww. Oh by the way I heard they hired some newbies to the GPB." Said Kazuki. "Newbies?" "Yeah I heard they added some new members who are also agents. Ooh they also added an intern."  "Really."  I answered intrigued. "Yeah she's hot oh look there she is now."  Kazuki finished pointing to the door.  I then turned knowing exactly who it was.

My face was filled with shock as Kokoro stepped through the doors. I was both happy and concerned when I saw her. I didn't want to act like I knew her though, so I hid my emotions. When she walked she was happy, with that brilliant smile on her face. "Hello Kazuki, hello Sourin.  How are you two today?" "Good thanks. It's nice to see you again Kokoro. This is Tatsuki you know the guy I was talking to you about." "Oh yes glad to meet you boss."  "Boss?"  I said confused while we shook hands. "Yes I will be your replacement secretary as well as your branch's intern. Didn't Kazuki tell you?" She said. "No he failed to mention that." I commented turning to the culprit who put his fist to the side of his head and smiled. "Oops." He said awkwardly. I then turned back to Kokoro and made a sign with my lips and eyes to talk to her in private.  She read my sign and came up with an excuse. "So shall we go to your office." "Oh yes, I will see you two later." I said agreeing then waving goodbye to Kazuki and Sourin escorting Kokoro towards the elevator. "Alright see you two lovebirds later." Kazuki said knowing of my nervousness. "Ack!" I shouted as his words hit me like an anvil. Kokoro chuckled. I just composed myself and continued walking with a slight blush. We walked into the elevator turned and I pressed the floor button. The last the thing we saw of the lobby was Sourin putting Kazuki in a playful headlock.

Once we reached my office I simply put my folder on the desk and sat down with my hands in my face. Kokoro stood there just looking around the room. "So is there anything you need-." She began to say, but I interrupted.  "I just have one question for you."  I took a deep breath.  "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE?!" I shouted luckily the other members of the branch weren't there yet. And the outburst caused me to stand up. "What do you mean?" She asked feeling backed up into a corner. "I mean, this is the worst place for a ghoul to work at. You could get caught, and you know what would happen." "Speaking of which, you're going to blow my cover."  "Don't worry they can't hear us, and there is not a single camera in this entire branch. Apparently the upper ups don't care for us much.  And besides that how did you even get past the academy I'm surprised they didn't catch you on the first week and plus they take your bio and your Rc rating how did you fake that?" "Well let's just say I'm really good at hiding my true identity. And my friend took care of the bio." "Friend? Did this friend of yours happen to be your dinner?"  "Haha no silly I have a human friend who has a very similar bio we have the same blood type, same body structure. Except for the hair. So on the day of the bio I switched with her in disguise and she did it instead." "That's!- actually pretty impressive."  "Thank you."  ""But besides that. I just want to know why. Why would you choose this job out of all the other jobs you could have taken. And you chose the most risky job of them all, if you got caught you could lose your brothers and they could lose their only thing that compares to a mother. Would you really put them through that?" She just stood there for a minute staring at a corner. Then she just stared back at me and said. "I guess I'm one of those carefree kind of ghouls.  I don't care that this job is risky, it's the most well-payed and worth it. I only care to help me and my boys survive in this violent world and if that means for me to jump into enemy territory I will gladly bet my life as long as we get the money to pay for our rent and bills." Her answer astounded me.  I had never met a ghoul who was so carefree and happy, but I guess that's what a "Mother" has to be.
