A few months passed and so did a few more dates between me and Kokoro. Our relationship growing after each meeting. She continued to enjoy our meals and kisses, and I knew we would be together forever.  But something was about to change.

"Tatsuki, Tatsuki? Wake up." I opened my eyes seeing Kokoro trying to get my attention at one of Antieku's coffee tables. "Oh, oh sorry I didn't get much sleep last night I was preparing the notes and speech for when I talk to the Chairman about Aogiri's arrival. So I didn't get to sleep until about 4:00."  I said rubbing my eyes and yawning. "Guess you should have put a couple more shots of espresso in your usual." Kokoro said jokingly.  "Yeah definitely."  I said chuckling. We both laughed, but my eyes still slightly drooping. "So do you think the CCG will agree to a peaceful settling with Aogiri?" She asked picking my brain. "I do hope so. The last thing this country needs is a war against ghouls. But the CCG barely listen to our branch as it is. They mostly consider us as comic relief or plan Z. But I got to try I may not prevail, but it's the least I can do to try and save this broken world we live in." "True" she agreed taking a sip of her coffee. "How do you feel about Aogiri?" She continued. "I don't know their actions  are very sporadic recently they hit a prison for more soldiers. I just hope it's not for the purposes everyone's thinking.  The CCG intends to find their hiding place before they strike. But I disagree I think even they do intend to attack the agency we should be on the defensive, and try and negotiate that's my plan at least." "Sounds good." She said then looked at me I was drooping again worried of what might happen in the near future. "Hey, look at me." She said I looked up and saw her lean in I leaned in too and kissed. "Don't worry about it you'll figure it out." She reassured me. "Thank you. Oh by the way how are your boys doing?" I mentioned drawing up more conversation. "I don't know. They've been really distant from me recently, and really quiet too. I feel as if they may be hiding something." She said with a concerned face. "Well I'm here if you need me." I tried to be supportive. "Thanks, but there's not much you can do with two teenaged ghouls who are also boys." "That's true we men are sometimes very secluded." "How's that supposed to help me." "Hahahahaha." I laughed then she chuckled. "Maybe what you should do is try to be more open to their feelings, or ask them how they feel. Hey maybe I could treat you guys to a dinner sometime." "Really that would be great." "Yeah now I just got to get Yoshimura to get me some more flesh, but it seems he's been rather distant." I said just as Yoshimura called out from the counter. "Excuse me everyone it seemed we will be closing early today do to renovations occurring at 2:00 this afternoon." I pointed at him and rolled my eyes. "See what I mean I live here how come he didn't tell me this?" Kokoro chuckled at my expression. "It's alright we can wait a little bit." "Alright. oh yikes we've been waiting here too long we're gonna be late." I said as I looked at my watch.. We then finished our coffees simultaneously, then headed out.

Once we were half-way there I remembered a crucial detail.  "Oh also apparently  a couple months ago one of Anteiku's  staff members joined Aogiri." "Really who?" Kokoro questioned. "The new guy Kaneki.  He was captured and brainwashed, or something anyway he is now one of their generals. He goes by the "Eyepatch" now." She put her hand to her mouth in shock. "Oh God. That's terrible I hope nothing like that happen's to my boys."  "I'm pretty sure they could handle themselves they're old enough. But no, it seems Kaneki was special there was something about him that they needed." "Well that makes me feel better." She said sarcastically. But we both smiled knowing everything would be fine. We reached the CCG building and entered it's doors. "Well, wish me luck."  "Okay." We kissed gently and she said. "Good luck." I left the main lobby and went into the elevator I pressed the floor number for the meeting room floor and waited.

The doors opened slowly which drew out the panic of the hallway. I gasped with shock as I looked upon the agents CCG members and soldiers running pass me. I stepped through the doors cautiously and pulled one of them aside and asked. "What's going on?" The soldier took his breath, and replied. "Emergency meeting apparently we found Aogiri's hiding spot." My eyes shot wide at this news. I let him go and he ran into the meeting room. I backed up, my plan was ruined there's no way they would listen to me now. Though I was curious.  I looked to the right and saw Yukinori Shinohara walking this way. "Mr. Shinohara is it true that we found Aogiri's hiding place?" The giant of a man looked down at me and said. "Oh yes it turned out that those ghouls you lived with in that cafe are conspiring with Aogiri, and it seems that Aogiri has made threats to assault the 20th ward Agency so we plan to take the fight to them." I gasped "Ghouls. That's not possible." I said to sound surprised but I truly thought. 'No not Antieku.' "If it's war these ghouls want then it's war they'll get."  My head fell at this response. Seeing my drooped face he smiled and said. "But don't worry there will be plenty of scraps for the GPB to pick up." This response angered me, but I dared not show it to a high standing official. "Oh and next time I'd be more careful with who you trust." He glared and continued walking. I stood to his side no point in obstructing. Juzo who walked behind him just smiled and waved. "Bye-bye house man." I thought things couldn't possibly get any worse. Then they showed up. "Hey" I turned around and saw Kazuki, Sourin, and Kokoro all standing in a line. Kazuki just smiled to hide the screaming in his heart.  Sourin was even gloomier, and angrier than normal. And Kokoro just avoided eye contact all together. "Oh it's you guys what's up?" "Their calling us in all agents and soldiers of the 20th ward have been called in to fight Aogiri. We're on our way to the meeting for further details." "Wait all of them that's suicide we'll be left wide open." "We know." Sourin said as both him and Kazuki held up a piece of paper. The lettering on the front read 'Last will and testament.' My soul froze. "Where...where did you get those?" Kazuki now almost tearing up, answered. "They made the announcement last night, and gave us these. Course you would have heard about it if you worked here last night." I frowned at the thought of my other job's work schedule's obstruction. "Why didn't I get the memo though. I'm technically still an agent." "Cause you're not a true dove idiot! For You work in the GPB and you're practically the director so you're too important for this and besides you're a ghoul lover."  Sourin said yelling at first but actually shedding a tear. I knew exactly how he felt betrayed by the agency and by me. "What about you Kokoro?" I looked to her perhaps she would give me some better news. But it was only worse as she also pulled out a will slip. My Heart shattered and my eyes darkened. "I Didn't work last night either so I received the news and update in the lobby when you left. And because I'm not as important either-" She broke for a minute with her eyes closed and trying not to cry. "I am also required to fight." I leaned against the wall I was next to, my body feeling limp and weak. "No. This isn't fair!"  I yelled as I banged against the wall. My armed throbbed at the pain. "We're sorry Tatsuki." Kazuki said now full on crying they walked passed me without looking back. Except for Kokoro who did. I just collapsed against the wall, as my world began to turn upside down once again.
